It's wedding season, baby 📸

Spring has sprung and I'm dusting off my cameras for what promises to be an awesome season of weddings and elopements. Over the next few weeks I'll be filming at some of my favourite venues across my native Yorkshire, as well as my first in sunny Cyprus. There'll also be some trips to and later in the season, and I can't wait to load up the truck for some proper adventures up north!

To get into the zone, I've been looking through some of my favourite pics from last twelve months - including this stunner of Gina & Andrew, who tied the knot at the awesome House last summer.

Last year I was lucky enough to work Sophie & Rob's amazing wedding at Howsham Hall. Here's the final cut of the couple's big day, featuring my trusty Super 8mm and one incredible performance from a certain bridesmaid.

It's booking season 📷

With January being the busiest month for bookings and enquiries, plans are taking to take shape for the upcoming wedding season. Already, 22 of the 25 spots I have available have been booked up, leaving just three spaces available for summer 2023.

Looking ahead to 2024, my books are now open for a limited time only - so you'll need to be quick if you want to secure for your wedding or elopement next year!

To all my 2023 clients, I'll be reaching out shortly to arrange consultations and I can't wait to hear about all your amazing plans. It's going to be another boss year.

All you need is love 🖤

This week I shared Luisa & Paul's wedding video, along with this mini teaser. Luisa & Paul so were so brilliant to work with, and I am delighted with the feedback I received after sharing their final edit.

"We've just watched it, it's wonderful!! Well worth the wait and so special to watch the big day all over again. We can't wait to share it and watch with our family. We can't thank you enough for all your work on the photo and video editing. Everyone has absolutely loved them all, Paul and I included."

Although I'm still playing catch up with last year's edits, looking through all the photos and videos captured constantly reminds me of why I do what I do - and when you receive such lovely feedback from amazing clients like Luísa & Paul, well that's just the cherry on top 💥

the isle of skye ⛰️

since launching my elopement packages last month, i've been blown away by the number of clients getting in touch to discuss their special getaway up north. one things i love about filming elopements is that i get to spend wayyyy more time than usual with the bride and groom, which in turn lends itself to breathtaking moments such as this 🖤

thinking long term, i'd love nothing more than a diary jam-packed with elopement shoots - not only because i love shooting them, but because it'd also justify me buying a campervan and living my best , complete with wife and dog 😂

Meet Chelsea & Hunter 🖤

These guys travelled over 4,000 from Little Rock, Arkansas, to the Isle of Skye for their elopement, which I had the honour of capturing with my cine camera.

The voiceover elements play a critical role in this edit. Not only do Chelsea & Hunter's words set the scene/tone of the film, they also enabled me to deliver a narrative-driven film, packed with emotion.

The intro was filmed handheld using my Sony A7iii, with some scene-setting drone shots thrown in for good measure. I intentionally left the audio from my car's stereo in at the very beginning, as I felt the juxtaposition between the the Rolling Stones and the open, silent wilds of Skye added something a little different.

Putting together this edit was a real joy, and reliving the day we shared on Skye brought back so many amazing memories. I hope you enjoy watching this edit as much as I enjoyed making it.

Isle of Skye 💫 These frames were captured while filming Chelsea & Hunter's incredible elopement in the higher latitudes 🎥

In all honesty, elopement videography isn't something I'd given much thought to previously, but this shoot changes that for sure.

In the coming weeks I'll be dropping more frames and teasers from this amazing adventure, but for now here's Chelsea Thompson doing her thing in the Quiraing winds.

Shout out to the supremely talented David Conaty Photography and Aly the Humanist, and of course the gorgeous bride and groom who made the shoot an absolute blast to work.
