Feedback is dedicated to bringing drum & bass, techno, old skool and jungle to Sheffield and beyond featuring the best in cutting-edge D&B from all the top artists! Sheffield was at the forefront of the drum and bass scene throughout it's development and events like drum and bass arena and the legendary NY Sushi were regularly attended by the Feedback crew.
Founders Kelly Wood, Paul Lee and Gita Patel launched the first event at The Arches in 2003 to bring the best underground beats to Sheffield's ears and turned a few heads along the way with their independent, self-sufficient approach. Not ones to bore the audience with the same style all night long, they quickly became known for their wide variety of tunes, taking huge inspiration from the DIY underground rave scene and UK reggae soundsystem culture. Dubcentral – another night promoted by Feedback – brought original UK soundsystems like Iration Steppas, Channel One and Jah Tubby’s to Sheffield, providing a blueprint that naturally progressed into the customised sound that Feedback now specialises in. The night is rapidly becoming known as the North's answer to London's Renegade Hardware - a well-loved and well-attended regular bash that brings in the kind of forward-thinking minimal, techstep and dark drum & bass bookings Sheffield is sorely lacking. Served by the heavyweight Operation Soundsystem, Feedback has become a mecca for DJs and producers looking to test the limits of their tunes in front of an appreciative crowd. It's no secret and no surprise they've attracted some of the most experienced and adept resident DJs the city has to offer, as well as one-of-a-kind bookings that have diversified the roster of D&B artists touring in Sheffield. Feedback Regulars Venja, Fychu, Aggers, Universal Minds, Nu Shot, Chappy, Nvision, and [sub]swami cover all bases and over the years have refined their skills by playing alongside some of the biggest names in the scene. As of 2011, Feedback is pleased to announce DJ Fierce (Quarantine Recordings), Cause 4 Concern (C4C Recordings), Survival (Audio Tactics), and the legendary MC E-LL as new residents. These DJs say that the presentation, sound quality, attention to detail and unique care put into Feedback events has been infectious, that it has something new and genuine to offer artists. This is a huge honour, not least because a love of these artists led to the creation of the night in the first place. But don't let the heavy basslines give you the wrong impression - Feedback has always been known for its friendly, accommodating atmosphere, psychedelic stylings and laid-back vibe. No beef, no idiots - just good company, good tunes and good times.
