I thought there was far too much hair and denim involved to be on a punk rock bill. Then they started playing. Rat Cage. Potentially the most punk thing tonight.

Hi my friends. Pictured here test pressing of the vinyl to go with Safety Pin #29 which will be mailing in February. You may notice that it's a 12" rather than the usual 7" offering: that's because we have four unreleased tracks by a huge band from the late 70s-early 80s era, still going strong and seven inches just wasn't big enough... All will be revealed after Christmas when it goes up for preorder. In the mean time, if you really want to send us some money we have plenty of copies of #27 (with Instigators / Hung Like Hanratty 7") and #28 with four track TNS Records EP. And the numbered limited edition Hula 7" is on the website to preorder for mailing early January. HALF THE COPIES ARE ALREADY GONE, so get your skates on if that's your thing. www.safetypinmag.com is where to go.

You don’t get much more punk rock than this. Pizza Tramp at Zephyrs in Sheffield tonight. Set up on the floor. No ‘can I have more bass in the monitors’ because there’s only one monitor and only the drummer’s behind it.
