My Qualifications

MA – Durham University - Electroacoustic Studies - distinction
BA – Durham University – Music – 2:1
Licentiate Diploma in Performance -Trinity College London – distinction
Grade 8 flute– ABRSM – distinction
Grade 8 singing– ABRSM – distinction
Primary PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status

My Experience

In addition to my six years of primary school classroom experience, working with children in KS1 and KS2, I began private music teaching whilst still at school and have worked as a private music teacher ever since. I now have more than fifteen years private music teaching experience, have taught and entered students for all ABRSM grades with excellent results, and have experience teaching students of all ages including adult learners. I now run my own music school with over 50 private students, conduct two choirs (Lodge Moor Children’s Choir and St. Joseph's School Choir) and work as a music teacher in local primary schools. Additionally, I worked for many years as the vocal tutor at Stagecoach Sheffield. My Service and Fee

My students attend 30 minute individual lessons costing £16 a lesson, although I am happy to provide 60 minute lessons upon request. I teach beginner to advanced level including adult learners. Students work towards ABRSM grades 1-8 or learn just for fun! Students at AMH Music are given lots of additional opportunities to perform solos and in ensembles at the bi-anual AMH Music concerts. These are friendly, sociable events that allow students to develop confidence, share their achievements and progress with others and make new friends! Calling all teenagers! Lodge Moor Youth Choir are looking to increase their broken voices sections (tenor, bass, and baritone, 18 or under). New members would not need previous singing experience and would be fully supported to develop their choir singing as they take part, receiving support from our dedicated team of experts and enthusiastic existing broken voices members.

Well done to AMH Music flute student Yuchen for his lovely performance here of ‘Easy Winners’.

AMH Music's very own choir 'Lodge Moor Children's Choir' are proud to announce that they have been selected from choirs all around the UK and Ireland for this prestigious national project. They are excited to work with composer Russell Hepplewhite and acclaimed poet Michael Rosen to premiere their new piece from song set 'EVERYTHING' this coming May. Exciting times!

Our second performance today is from the lovely Callum, playing us Cinq Sets. It’s lovely to see how his confidence has grown this year and to watch him become such an expressive and accomplished performer. Well done Callum!

So close to Christmas now! Hannah and Isabelle have sung a Christmas duet for us today - they hope it makes you feel festive. Hannah has written her own harmony for the duet. Well done girls! - two beautiful singers from one family!
