last week's work experience placement from Westlands school, Sittingbourne, was Nieve. She was a delight to train and a quick learner with the technical and operational techniques of broadcasting. Nieve got on well with everyone at the station and was completely capable of presenting on her own. She has done her school and family proud. Well done Nieve

Rebecca Gebbie joined us today to tell us all about the new projects launching on 2nd April 2024. The National Lottery have funded a 4-year isolation and loneliness project named Legacy - this amazing programme will support people over the age of 60 with bespoke befriending and activities that will enhance people’s lives – growing independence and self-confidence. Rebecca was also keen to announce that they have also been successful with a second bid through the Henry Smith charity to run a 3-year project alongside Legacy named – Inspire Me – which will support all those aged 59 and below with isolation and loneliness. Rebecca said “We have learnt many lessons over the years of what our community want and need, and we genuinely listen. We then do our research, and we support people with engaging sessions and services. We will be linking up with key players within the community that can help people make the changes they need to feel happier and connected to the place in which they live”
If you want to know more about either of these projects, please contact our admin on [email protected] or call the office on 01795 585335. Our wonderful team of coordinators are just waiting to meet you ! Stay tuned as we join Sheppey FM on the launch day to tell you more about what we have been planning

Lovely to catch up with friends at Sheppey FM this morning and talk a little about what me and my council colleagues do representing the people of Sheppey. Items discussed included car park charges, bus services and fly-tipping. On the bright side we've got carnivals and festivals to look forward to during the summer. Let's support them as much as we can.
