WHO AM I?
Last year I watched as businesses signed up to @22storiesandme challenge on Instagram and said, next year I will do this! So today is Day One of sharing my story - The focus today, Who am I?
So who am I? First and foremost I am a family girl; Mum to two teenage boys, a Wife, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, Great Niece, lab owner and friend.
I love eating and drinking good quality food and drink, my last supper would be a seafood platter with champagne. I love to run, work out, go to the cinema, watch rugby, raise money and party with friends 🥂
I have always liked to make a difference, whether that is to; the school, a person’s experience, a business, a friend or a family member. I am loyal and trustworthy and if you want my help or would like to collaborate I’m always keen to find out more. I throw 100% into everything I do.
I love learning and continually strive to improve the way I do things (The moment I post this, I will see the flaws and how I could have done it better) I have had to work hard at accepting, in life & business, mistakes will be made and as long as you learn from them that’s O.K
My purpose is to support, connect and help small businesses on their journey to be the best they can be, whilst striving to do the same with mine. I love the diverse mix of businesses that I get to work with
I work with two businesses that enable me to fulfill my purpose. @sevenoaksmums, a community based platform connecting businesses with local families and @helenlodersocial which helps small businesses with their social media. There are exciting times ahead for both.

This is a really busy time of year for small businesses as we all try and keep the wheels turning. You may notice a dip in your followers liking, commenting, saving and sharing your posts.
But there are things you can do:
1. Post useful content that will help your audience in some way. Identify the problems they may be experiencing at the moment, how can you provide a solution?
2. Give a clear Call to Action on each post. Save this post is a good one as they can come back to it later. On Facebook (Hit the three dots, top right of your post)
3. Share your post or video to Stories. This acts as a reminder and shows your followers you have recently posted something.
4. Are you engaging with your followers? If you take time to connect with your followers they are more likely to engage with you. So carve out some time to do that.
REMEMBER people are busy but it doesn't mean they are not seeing your posts. They may be thinking about buying from you or booking your service in the New Year
So keep going - you've got this

🎆 TOP TIP that I wanted to re share with you. I was reminded of this today and with a few new followers on board I thought it was worthwhile sharing again.
There are two formats you can use for your Instagram posts….. and one takes up more space in a newsfeed than the other…..
1080 x 1080 is the original size used for Instagram
But
1080 x 1350 is slightly bigger.
Time to convert? I needed reminding by @sarahrichardssocial today and will be using this from now on 🙏

Video is really important on Social Media right now. Are you doing enough to promote your product, service or business? Are you avoiding it as you don't really like getting in front of the camera?
The reasons why video is so important:
- The information you share is more likely to be retained if a video is watched as opposed to reading text
- You are more likely to receive a higher engagement rate
- Video is growing in popularity so it is a great way to reach out to existing and new followers
So here are a few tips:
- Don't be a perfectionist when it comes to recording
- Prepare
- Try and shoot more than one video at a time if you can and save the others for later.
- Limit the number of retakes you shoot - otherwise you could be there for hours!!
- Remember - Done is better than perfect!
- And..... it does get easier!
