Bondgate in Selby will be closed between 7am and 4pm for twelve days, commencing Monday, January 13, North Yorkshire Council has said.

The closure will span the full road to facilitate footway resurfacing, extending from the Flaxley Road/ New Millgate roundabout to the junction with Sherburn Road.

There will be a diversion via Flaxley Road, Hospital Lane and Sherburn Road.

Traffic in and out of Selby is likely to be further complicated by the closure of Bawtry Road at the Three Lakes roundabout, also due to begin on Monday, January 13.

Urgent appeal to find missing Malton teenager 👇

We are appealing for any information that could help with the search to find missing Robert.

Robert, who is 16-years-old was last seen at a family members address in the Norton area of Malton at 2pm yesterday (Monday 06 January 2025).

Robert was last seen wearing a black Hoodrich coat, grey Nike tracksuit bottoms with grey and black trainers.

Officers are currently carrying out extensive enquiries to locate Robert but are growing increasingly concerned for his welfare. Robert is known to frequent in the York and Selby areas so may have travelled here.

Anyone who has seen him or has information that could assist is asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101. If you have an immediate sighting please dial 999.

Were you in Selby town centre on Boxing Day night (26 December)?

We’re appealing for information after a man was assaulted at around 11.20pm near the Market Cross, Finkle Street and the New Inn Pub.

The victim, a man in his thirties, was knocked to the ground and suffered facial injuries during the incident. He was taken to hospital for treatment and later discharged.

We’re appealing for any witnesses who saw what happened, CCTV footage and dashcam footage from motorists who may have been passing through.

15-year-old threatened with knife - can you help our appeal? 🚨

We are appealing for information and CCTV footage following a robbery in Sherburn-in-Elmet last night.

It happened at around 9.20pm on Boxing day night (26 December) in the Low Street / Low Garth Road area when a 15-year-old boy was threatened by a man with a knife who stole his Moncler coat.

The suspect is described as approximately aged 19, of mixed race, around 5ft 10in, of skinny build and with dark curly hair. He was also described as having a distinctive Japanese tattoo on the right side of his neck, possible resembling the letters ‘KAN’.

Detective Chief Inspector Shaun Page of York and Selby CID, said: “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to locate the suspect and I am appealing to residents and businesses in the area who may have doorbell video or private CCTV in the area that may have captured the suspect on camera along with anyone who was driving past the area and may have dashcam footage of the suspect.

“This was a very concerning and serious incident and where a young person has been threatened with a knife. Please get in touch if you have any information that can assist our investigation, including any sightings or knowledge of a man that matches the suspect’s description.”
