BREAKING! Labour Leader visits Cawood
Labour Leader Sir Keir Starmer visited Cawood this morning to announce the party’s new Rural Crime Strategy, after new research revealed that crime rates in rural areas have risen by 32 per cent since 2011.
Taking a small tour of the village, Sir Keir joined Shadow Home Secretary Yvette Cooper and Mayoral candidate David Skaith.
After stopping off at The Pickled Postie for one of the local business’s prized sausage rolls, Sir Keir chatted with several locals at The Village Tea Room, including the owners of Monk Fryston Village Stores, who discussed their ordeal following the armed robbery which took place at their post office on February 19.
