Did you see anything? Any footage? 🚔

We’re appealing for information about a suspicious incident in Hemingbrough in which two girls were shot at with a BB gun-type weapon from a passing red car.

It happened at around 8.15pm on Monday (24 June 2024) on School Lane at the junction with St Mary's Avenue.

Luckily, no injuries were caused.

Enquiries are ongoing to trace the driver and front seat passenger of the red car.
We also urge residents to review their CCTV, doorbell cameras and vehicle dashcams around the time of the offence to help identify the suspects.

So here we go for the final home match of the season. We extend a very warm welcome to for their first visit to Sandhill Lane today. A win today for Selby will put us in an unassailable position; however a draw may present both and with a chance of progressing on points difference and a defeat will put paid to any Twickenham ambition for this season. Good luck to all teams for a thrilling end of season clash!

Our Micros are also visiting pre-match to savour the atmosphere and to see what the results of coming through our Junior teams can achieve! We also welcome our Volunteers from the Junior section as a thank you for the time given to developing our future players.

What a great day for rugby and we look forward to welcoming you all this afternoon. Bar open from 1.00 pm and Kick Off is 3.00 pm.

Our Ladies XV face tomorrow in their final fixture of the season. They have come top of their league and are going from strength to strength in their development. We wish them good luck tomorrow.

Property marking event – Tuesday 23rd April 👮
North Yorkshire Police offers a free Dot Peen property marking service to anyone in North Yorkshire.
Dot peen marking involves using a tungsten carbide-tipped pin to indent an object with dots to create a visible, permanent unique number.
The unique number is then put into the national Immobilise property register database.
Marking something like this increases the chances that you'll get it back if it's lost or stolen. It also helps Police get convictions as evidence when something is stolen.
It can be done to everything from steel and aluminium to plastic, so almost anything can be marked, from farming equipment, power tools, to electrical devices, bikes and equestrian tack. 🚲 🐴 🛠️

Do you recognise this man?

Police believe he may have important information which would help an investigation into the theft of two sat nav systems from a car on Elston Avenue in Selby.

The sat nav's were stolen from the car at around 1.15pm on Saturday 9 September.

Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information which would assist officers with their enquiries is asked to email [email protected] or call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option 2 and ask to speak to PC 754 Longhorn.

We're appealing for witnesses and information after a flare was set off in Poundland on Abbey Walk in Selby at around 3.30pm on Tuesday 19 September 2023 🚔

It filled the store with orange smoke which caused distress to several elderly shoppers who were evacuated coughing and choking.

Poundland estimate the disruption cost them £600 in lost sales.

Following enquiries, we have arrested two boys aged 17 and 16 in connection with the investigation.

We are carrying out a search for another teenage boy who is believed to have been in the store at the time.

We're currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the A63 between Monk Fryston and Hambleton.

The road is closed and is expected to be for some time.

Appeal following trailer theft in Selby 👇

We're asking members of the public to keep an eye out for a stolen flat bed trailer.

The Ifor Williams trailer was stolen from Balne, Selby at 6pm on 2 August.

Enquiries have been ongoing and police are now appealing for information.

It has registration number CJ07 KAZ and is large enough to transport vehicles. The trailer also has an electric winch at the front.

It was stolen and towed by a black Honda CRV 4x4 vehicle with the registration RJ06 WLU. The vehicle is believed to have significant front end damage sustained in the offence.

Officers in Selby are appealing for anyone who recognises the woman in the CCTV picture below to get in touch.

Despite conducting extensive enquiries in their local area, they are yet to confirm her identity.

They're keen to speak to her because they believe she may hold important information regarding an 80-year-old woman's purse being stolen from her handbag as she did her shopping in Tesco in Selby at around 11.45am on Saturday 24 June.
