So last night was a little crazy ….. Alongside Evolve I’m supporting Scunthorpe RUFC with their Sponsorship, Communications and Marketing and last night I went along to help with two international legends coming to town!!

Dan Cole and Ben Youngs were an absolute pleasure to host at Heslam Park. They coached a session with the 1st team, recorded content for the RFU and then recorded their podcast (For the Love of Rugby) live to a packed rugby club!!!

How did I get involved - The club reached out asking if I knew anyone that would be interested in supporting them with their vision and focus towards tier 4 rugby! My reply ….. me!!!

Combining my desire to promote businesses in the local community and my love of all things North Lincolnshire and wholesome, working with the local rugby team ticks all my boxes!!!!

This was such a brilliant night. I feel very lucky to work with such an amazing local company.

Everyone knows I also love an event and I loved being part of the team organising this! Definitely gave me the event planning bug again!!

We had a lovely catch up yesterday with a business connection who wanted to bend my ear about networking.

After running the Business Network South Humberside for years you’d think I’d love everything to do with networking ….. news flash ….. I have a love / hate relationship with it! 🫣🫣

I explained how moving forwards with my business I’m not attending groups for the sake of it. I’m attending events with content I enjoy, something for me to learn, people that make my soul happy ….. and if networking happens from me attending - brilliant, if it doesn’t then my soul is happy.

This morning is one of those meetings / groups. I’m very excited to be part of Scunthorpe Tomorrow and seeing the pilot website and chatting through about developments made me ❤️❤️.

I'm still processing a lot of the information I learned at last weeks CIM - The Chartered Institute of Marketing Digital Conference. Some of it was brand new learning, some of it was a nice refresher - the entire day was time well spent!

🌟 Whether marketers are wise owls or magpies (love this analogy)
🌟 Generative AI - things to consider and stay clear of
🌟 Not putting all our eggs in the Google basket - social search
🌟 Sustainable digital marketing - I shall be clearing my cloud storage shortly
🌟TikTok for branding, and
🌟 Being digitally disruptive!

It’s been a long time since I’ve had a day of learning for me and I’m buzzing with ideas and things to go away and research some more. I’m already thinking about my clients and what some of today will mean to them!

We’re not in Kansas anymore …. We’re having a day out for the 16th CIM | The Chartered Institute of Marketing digital marketing conference - a day of learning all of me!

So far it’s been well worth the drive …. Lots to share and lots to implement!

My office for the day! I’m remote working for a client and I can’t help but want to work outside for a few reasons:

1) We’re finally having some sunshine - I’m a June baby and I need this brightness in my life
2) The noises - the sound of next doors water fountain, the birds, the breeze …. Something about it for me
3) My pooch - she loves this weather so we can both be outside together!!

So my social wonder - do other people take their offices outside on days like this or is this sunshine your idea of hell 😂😂.

Fabulous morning yesterday with some of the members of the Marketing and Customer Engagement teams from Ongo UK

I’ve been researching AI and CoPilot for Marketing teams and yesterday was the launch of my new session!

I had a trip over the bridge this lunchtime and headed to Hull Business Women's Breakfast Club Humber Business Week AI event.

An interesting lunchtime learning more about AI and also being enlighted with regards to elements of cyber security.

I’ve got a Marketing and AI session tomorrow with one of my clients and some more lined up. I’m still learning (as a lot are) but it interests and excites me, the research I’ve been undertaking lately has taken me down some very interesting rabbit holes!

So ….. I’m interested ….. how is your business embracing AI? Or are you still not sure about it?

I was chatting everything Scunthorpe Samaritans alongside my ideal road trip, I went around the Adelaide vineyards 🍷. Volunteers really do help the world go round 💚💚

Over the past year we have been working with Lucy, a Social Media and Marketing Administrator from British Stainless Steel Association - BSSA.

Lucy has a background in Marketing but wanted some additional support with a variety of different aspects she was responsible for. With the LinkedIn social media statistics skyrocketing and Lucy enjoying herself with a "reignited passion for work" I'd say the sessions so far have been a success. We really couldn't be happier!

Yesterday was my second 1:1 Marketing and Social Media session with the lovely David Hickinson Architecture

During our sessions we have discussed what he wants from his business, how marketing can support this, ideas around content for his social media channels and how to measure these activities (amongst other things). He is creating his Marketing Strategy as we go, with support, knowledge and ideas from myself. He knows his industry, I know marketing - win win!

Fridays until Mid May are teaching days for me. So another thank you to a wonderful connection for coming to speak to my BA (Hons) students.

Sarah spent Friday afternoon with this interesting bunch. After explaining all about her Marketing journey and everything Ongo do (and are!!) she set them tasks. Each table had a scenario to work on linked to areas Ongo UK and Ongo Recruitment are working on, we wanted to see what ideas they came up with. They did not disappoint!!

A huge thank you to Nichola Threadgold for taking the time to come and speak to my BA(Hons) Business Studies students today at Bishop Grosseteste University.

Once they’d got over the excitement of Nichola’s new car they started to dive into all elements of Marketing for a funeral directors.

As well as being inspired by Nichola’s story of how Jason Threadgold Funeral Director came into fruition they got to hear first hand the benefits and challenges that being an entrepreneur brings. They also got to use the knowledge from the past few weeks of our Marketing module to present ideas for challenges Nichola presented them!

One student pitched himself for a job and 5 of them were still in the classroom 15 minutes after the session ended ….. successful session in many ways!!!

Ps …. For those wondering we still do some casual hours at BGU and the University of Lincoln, days like these remind me us we really do love it!!!

What a fabulous day! Well done to The Business Culture HEY on such a great event!

The Expo was a buzz of activity and we made some amazing new connections, along with finding some friendly faces in the crowds!

Alongside a lot of new businesses to go away and research we also won 2 tickets for a night out at DoubleTree by Hilton Hull! Wahoo!!!

Traditional marking (leaflets, business cards, pens etc) come into their own at these sorts of events but I was really pleased to see a lot of environmentally mindful bits of merchandise as well. I’ve included a photo of my favourite bit of merch …. 😂🙈.

We look forward to meeting some of these new connections at events over the water very soon 👏🏼👍🏼

I’ve had a fab day today so I’m sharing …. Not only because I had AMAZING food at Abbys Bistro - Grimsby through The Business Network - South Humberside but because …..

🌟 Someone I worked with over 10 years ago recommended me to another business connection! I worked with their business on their Marketing and Social Media so to be recommended after this long made me 😍
🌟 I managed to see a fluffy puppy …. My day is always better when there’s fluffs involved ❤️
🌟 The cheesecake at Abby’s was that delicious I was able to bring one home for the hubster … good wife points for me! x
🌟 I had a lovely catch up and a brew with a business connection chatting all things projects and the business world
🌟 I’ve been sharing publicity ideas with a fellow Samaritan volunteer from Durham who was very impressed with the efforts of our local charity!!

Defo 10/10 day today ❤️❤️

I have had one of those days that just makes me smile!!!

I started the day with an online session for University of Lincoln - throughly enjoy speaking to the mature students!

Followed by a long long LONG overdue catch up with the lovely Tony & Michelle Bowler - I’ve made some decisions about Evolve’s future and I’m chomping at the bit to get going and see where these changes take me!

And then this afternoon I’ve been discussing all things LinkedIn, business & Marketing with Steve Empson from the fabulous Containerking

Our little part of this gigantic floating rock really does have some gems doesn’t it. I am feeling very seen & very lucky today ❤️🍀

An amazing evening at The Baths Hall watching Beauty and The Beast.

Highlights include my niece Isla getting squirted with the water gun, the Brumby girl comments linked to Belle (as a Brumby girl myself they made me smile) and 12 days of Christmas - Annie F***y classic!

We are 11 years old TODAY ….. where have the last 11 years gone!

This last year has been a mixture of highs and lows. Evolve has worked, and continues to work, with some amazing local businesses, we’ve had some great results for them and we will have case studies to share very soon!

But these last few months have been challenging personally and, after taking a step back to reflect (and reminding myself that is okay to do!!) there will be some changes moving forwards.

So let’s see what the next year brings ….. roll on our 12th year!!

These amazing young men are Karen (and obviously Stu’s!!!) nephews and when the opportunity to sponsor them both came up it had to be done!

From a family point of view it’s an obvious sponsorship - we want to support them however we can, but there are business opportunities for those of you looking to promote your business locally.

Not only do the young men or women you choose to sponsor get the kit they need for the future season, your business will be included in promotions around Heslam Park and through the rugby clubs ever growing social media accounts. I had an absolutely amazing day on Monday at Carers' Support NEL

I was part of the tour for Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal's visit and was privileged to listen to her interacting with Carers, partners, volunteers and staff.

I also had the pleasure of working with SYAU Sportography again who took these amazing photos (and some other A**** ones for the team's Social Media).

The social media reach from the page & Twitter account alone is making me a very very very happy lady. The Royal Families social media account has shared the Charities post on both channels .... oh my!

I can see a case study in my future 😀
