The results are in! We have crowned the talented winners of the Pro Moviemaker Filmmaker of the Year 2024! 🏆

What a stellar set of entrants we’ve had. These are the real heroes of commercial, indie filmmaking. While some entrants are experienced imaging professionals, others are young filmmakers making their first steps into the professional world. But one thing is consistent – all the winners truly shine.

A special mention goes to our supreme winner, Jonny Lewis. Jonny juggles his work as an editor for the USA’s biggest rugby TV channel, also making films for a local art gallery with its own YouTube channel to promote the wide range of international artists it represents. 👑

Already nominated for four Royal Television Society East Awards, Lewis was also the winner of one of our flagship awards, the commercial & corporate category.

Documentary remains the place in filmmaking where storytelling and visuals meets to create something awe-inspiring.

It can be intimidating thinking of an enthralling topic to focus on, but for this content it doesn’t have to be hard-hitting documentary uncovering truths on some injustice of globally important political situation.

The winning film at this year’s Filmmaker of the Year Awards could be highlighting a local issue, telling the tale of an artisan craftsperson, a biography of an interesting person or a personal challenge.

In essence, we’re looking for compelling stories told well, where the visual medium is a major contributing factor to the impact of the story.
