We would like your views on our budget proposals for 2025/26.

Your council, like others around the country, is facing significant pressure on its budget, caused by an unprecedented demand for our services.

We are proposing to invest a significant amount of funding to meet this demand, and we are also proposing savings of £8.8m to balance our budget, which we must legally do each year.

We have developed a section on our website which details the investment and savings proposals and the detailed report which was approved by the council’s Cabinet for consultation with residents and businesses in Redcar and Cleveland.

Stars from ITV soap Emmerdale enjoyed a trip on the iconic Saltburn Cliff Tramway yesterday (Sunday).

The actors have played characters past and present in the hit drama including:
Zoe Henry (who plays Rhona Goskirk – front left), Katherine Dow Blyton (who played Harriet Finchley – right back), Olivia Bromley (who plays Dawn Taylor, right, middle), and Emma Atkins (who plays Charity Di**le – right, front).

Trevor Russell, Team Leader at the Tramway, said: “The guys working said they were all absolutely lovely and were enjoying a day out. They took the time to be photographed and were just really nice to everyone. I’m devastated I wasn’t there to see them – I’m an absolutely huge fan, I never miss an episode…just my luck! But seriously, it was lovely that they came to our town and attraction to enjoy themselves.”
