In the hot seat!🔥We put our young reporters new skills to the test by taking them out into the community to show off their interviewing and camera skills - we took to the streets to ask the people of #Palau how they feel about Palau hosting the 2025 #PacificMiniGames, what messages they would like to say to the other Pacific island countries and their athletes ahead of their arrival as well as a welcome message to a Pacific country of their choice. All of the answers in our interviews will form part of our overall video which will be shown at the official Pacific Games Council meeting this week! 👏
Happy Independence Day Palau!🇵🇼
Lights, Camera, Action! 🎬✨🎤 After several days of training, it was time for our crew to leave the classroom and head out on location. From the beautiful scenery of the #RockIsland to the bustling crowds during the #BoatRace, to the fresh waters of the #OpenWaterSwim; our crew have been across Palau capturing footage of the scenery, sights, people and their opinions; capturing the essence of Palau. Most learning and confidence comes from getting hands-on with the equipment in a live setting, we’re so happy Palau National Olympic Committee are giving these young people the opportunity to cover their key events in their calendar for their Independence celebrations. We’re excited to be in the Capital tomorrow for Independence Day for more filming and interviewing!🎥🎤
Meet our team of young Palauan reporters! 🎥🎤
Palau Noc
Over the last few days, our budding reporters have been taking part in masterclasses in order to develop and enhance their media skills! They have mastered skills in filmmaking and setting up film equipment, interviewing techniques and etiquette as well as editing social media content on their mobile phones.
These skills will not only be put to the test over the next few days when we'll be capturing content during Palau's independence weekend but also when they become the official sports reporters for the 2025 Pacific Mini Games ✨
The Reporters' Academy are in Palau 🇵🇼🌺
Ahead of the 2025 Pacific Mini Games, PNOC have invited The Reporters' Academy to deliver media and sports reporting training to a group of their young people to become mentors and reporters.
This training will set the group up to become official members of the media team for the games with their newly found media skills in filmmaking and editing, interviewing and reporting.
An exciting first day... Tune in to see what we get up to on our second day!
Visit to Paris Olympic Games, athletes village and Oceania’s Moana house.
Our Hope & Katy popped over to Paris for a trip to see The Reporters' Academy’s Olympic friends. Here is a behind the scenes peep of their time in the Paris 2024 Olympic Athlete Village.
A great opportunity to connect with colleagues from Oceania, ONOC and Palau Noc about future projects. Mainly Palau’s Pacific Mini Games youth reporters project. Thank you to everyone we met with and friends we bumped into too.
A little behind the scenes insight into our weekly podcasting scholarship for young people. This week we interviewed GB Olympians.

A new month = a new creative visit 🤩
Each month, we have the pleasure of hosting the new cohort from Catch22's TikTok Creative Academy at MediaCity UK to deliver masterclasses in filmmaking, interviewing and editing on a mobile phone. By the end of the session, each participant will have created their very own piece of content which is showcased to the group for feedback and praise!
Huge well done to our facilitators Rosie and Katy for delivering another successful creative visit, dream team ✨
Plus, a huge thank you to the always wonderful dock10 for allowing us to use their facilities for our delivery - it means the world to us to be able to provide an inspirational and aspirational space for our young people to learn in and thrive off!
Last Friday, for International Women’s Day, we hosted a panel with our lovely client @Catch22 for their #TikTokCreativeAcademy which was filled with inspiring women within the creative industry. We were lucky to be visited by ITV, dock10, Contact Theatre, THG and Salford University as well as Catch22’s very own Janelle Vickers!
The group asked important questions around breaking into the creative industry, standing out on a CV as well as ways to quieten down our imposter syndrome in order to become confident and successful. The advice given by our panel was insightful, thoughtful and accessible, meaning our cohort could take away pieces of information that would support them in their careers for years to come.
A great opportunity for young people to expand their networks and create new contacts in their chosen industries and ask questions that serve their personal goals and ambitions.
Today we’ve been with the brilliant Dead Pixel Films- another Manchester media production company based at Sharp Project. We’ve been hands on with some awesome cutting edge technology! What a great final activity day ahead of our last day and celebration tomorrow.
What an INCREDIBLE DAY!! We have been getting hands on experience making our very on show in a professional TV studio. We’ve been guided by industry experts and learnt all about the roles that go into making a TV show. An unbelievable experience for all our Making it in Media team to see first hand how it all works. We also had a great live performance from local band Scapegrace. A great day for all!
