Dig Media A Heritage Lottery Funded project to digitise content from Jack Henry Moore’s vast media archive

Dig Media is a unique and exciting Heritage Lottery Funded project. We have been digitising and sharing footage from Jack Henry Moore’s fascinating and vast video archive, which captures (counter-)cultural change since the 1960s. Jack Henry Moore was a central figure of the 1960s UK underground (Psychedelic UFO club DJ, International Times, London Arts Lab, 24 Hour Technicolor Dream, Alchemical We

dding, Traverse Theatre). Jack was gifted an early mobile video camera by The Beatles as the technology was emerging in the ’60s. He filmed numerous counter-cultural events and figures until his death in 2014. He was also influential in European LGBT culture, founder of Amsterdam’s Melkweg and a travelling video producer for UNESCO. We will continue sharing and digitising approximately 600+ valuable videotapes in different formats. Being mainly from the late 1960s-1980s, they’re a treasure trove of unseen cultural gems including 500 rare posters. It will be a voyage of discovery – and we can’t wait to see where it takes us.
