Share shack statement.
A message to all :)
I have been trying to decide how to convey the essence of my intention/vision for the share shack scheme. I always circle back to it being a project I am running, so for now things are going to have to be the way they are to allow it to function. In the future with further resources and/or support this may change and the scheme is always open to change. So, in order to get things off the ground this is the structure I've decided upon. I will say, I not only welcome support but WANT and hope to NEED help organising, running and promoting Share Shack so please get in touch if you have a passion for helping both new and existing licensee's with equipment, information and practical support.
Firstly this scheme will be run on a trust basis NOT for gain or profit. It will rely on equipment being relinquished to Share Shack under my operation, therefore any donation will in essence become my (G5XDX) property BUT will be on a Share shack inventory which will be fully available to all. Neither Share shack nor I (G5XDX) will be under any obligation to return equipment donated. If you are not happy with this DO NOT offer equipment. I cannot be responsible for the return of equipment or damages occurring so again, full relinquishment will be required. Share Shack will not offer 3rd party equipment for loan or arrange a loan of equipment not in the Share Shack inventory.
Those borrowing equipment do so on a trust basis at my discretion. The loan period will be a max of 4 weeks unless otherwise agreed. No fee will be charged but more expensive items may require a token deposit to be agreed. ANYONE borrowing equipment must agree to the public sharing of the loan (Your call sign and which equipment has been borrowed) be assured anyone who fails to return equipment or deliberately attempts to gain from the equipment available WILL be named and shamed! Should damage occur to the equipment whilst on loan, share shack will not be liable to provide a replacement. The borrower will not be liable for repair or replacement costs.
Some donations may be deemed βconsumablesβ and not intended for return from loan, for example; wire, PL259s, terminal block etc. Again, this will be at my discretion.
We will be promoting an information support scheme with a list of Amateurs willing to share their knowledge and experience in a certain area/s. Antenna building, CW, Data modes etc
Also a practical support scheme to help with manual tasks such as antenna installs, radio installs etc. This will be done under the direct supervision of the Amateur in question with volunteer support purely as a non professional service and with no liability to comply and no liability in case of any damages or repair/replacement of equipment. A signed waiver will be required before any assistance is undertaken.
Finally, I have been working on the inventory and this will go live in the next week. Some equipment has been on loan in recent weeks to M7 stations which has helped them massively. I want this to work and welcome feedback. Don't be offended though if I don't implement your ideas!
Thank you to all who have already donated and those who have shown support.
Thanks again for your support and I look forward to your feedback.
