The Association of Fleet Professionals (AFP) has called for OEMs to “step up” and improve 12V battery technology on electric vans as it warns many eLCVS remain “unuseable”.

The fleet association has previously spoken out about widespread “bricking” issues with electric vans losing charge on the 12V battery when the vehicle is left unused for a couple of weeks.

The Newspress awards have once again crowned Fleet World the best Automotive Business Publication.

In 2024, the leading title for fleet decision-makers edged out competitors like Autovista24.

As a result of its dedication to its target audience and unrelenting pursuit of quality editorial, Fleet World won the award.

St Austell Brewery has partnered with ScottishPower to install more than 300 public EV in pub carparks across the south west of England.

Motorists who purchase an EV over its petrol equivalent stand to save up to £7,000 over the next four years, while upfront price parity is “in reach” of drivers.

No matter what method drivers use to purchase a new EV, they can expect to save a minimum of £3,000 over the same period, according to the analysis by EV consultancy New AutoMotive.

There is “good and bad” for the remarketing sector in the Labour Party’s election manifesto, according to the Vehicle Remarketing Association (VRA).

VRA chair Philip Nothard welcomed plans for a new standardised used electric vehicle battery health check but also warned of the potential dangers of reintroducing the 2030 ICE phase-out for new cars.
