Finding it hard to make progress? Don't know who to listen to for advice? It's a tough industry and it can be bewildering for artists. Artist Development requires a lot more expertise, passion and commitment than merely booking studio time. We've been developing artists and making records for over 25 years. Our work with emerging artists has been recognised by AIM, the BPI (we were made members of

the BRIT Awards Voting Academy) and the Royal Society of Arts (our founder was made a Fellow of the RSA in 2014 in recognition of his support for young artists). We regularly speak to University under-graduates and provide panellists for conferences and music industry events. Many of our former interns are now pursuing a successful career in their chosen path in the music industry and our former development artists continue to join a line of successful career paths. Big Help Music is a well established West Midlands and London based company with a national reputation and an international reach - offering a range of Label, Marketing, PR, Publishing, Management and Training services to professional and emerging artists. We have partner agreements with companies in other countries - including KKP Records - one of China's largest independent labels. We have organised and run concerts and small festivals - as well as outdoor settings and our artists have appeared in almost every major UK city. Our artists' festival appearances have included Glastonbury. BHM has also worked with artists on tour/location in China, India, USA, France, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Malta and Cyprus. We have also been the inspiration and starting point for a number of professionals - including Producers, Engineers and Vocal Coaches who began their careers whilst employed at our Studios or as interns on one of our schemes. We have worked very closely with community and school groups - including the International Childrens' Games (Childrens Olympics).

We were privileged to spend an evening with the original players of Amy Winehouse and family and friends - celebrating both her music and 60 years of the fabulous Polish Jazz Cafe Posk .. .. what a great night of music and friendship - special shout out to Xantone Blacq It was emotional to hear Amyโ€™s classic songs at this venue and some iconic songs played in her style were equally inspiring from these incredible musicians. Great restaurant too .. and the vodka flowed freely

So beware those who offer you one! Regular training and experience events for young performers - Auditions are announced on this page. Many Midlands vocal teachers started practicing their coaching skills on this scheme alongside our music industry core team - which includes Music Producers Fred Cox, Phil Harding and Bob Marlette. The Big Help Academy - provides professional training and experience at a high level for young musician/performers. Sessions are held on weekday evenings and broadly follow the school term times. Application is by an informal chat followed by a short audition. You can contact us by messaging here. Former graduates have gone on to the best performing arts schools in the UK - including THE BRITS SCHOOL, LIPA, Academy of Contemporary Music, Central School of Speech & Drama, Arts Ed, Italia Conti, London's Guildhall, Masters School of Performing Arts and Goldsmiths. Folk on the Water was founded by one of our Directors - now in its 10th year and the longest music festival in the UK and already listed in the Top 25 UK Festivals.
