Many people have been asking whether Royston Radio will be returning.

Behind the scenes, we’ve been working hard to secure funding to support our community content. Royston Radio is a volunteer run community organisation, and any funding we receive goes directly back into promoting local people, groups, businesses and events, and in the past, supporting community activities and businesses with equipment, refreshments and entertainment free of charge.

Unfortunately, without funding, we can’t continue this work. While we’ve contacted many organisations and businesses in Royston, only one option is currently pending. We have, however, received generous funding offers from outside Royston, which we’re now carefully considering so the station can continue serving the town.

We’ll share an update once a decision has been made. Thank you to everyone for your continued support 💙

One year ago, we supported an evening at The Old Schoolhouse in Royston, celebrating all things 80s with the talented Janey Lee Grace.

The event was organised by Bow Books and it highlighted something Royston Radio has always been passionate about: supporting the town’s businesses.

We regularly offered free airtime for special shows featuring local businesses, and we backed their events by providing free music, PA hire, and on-air promotion.

Our local businesses were important to us, and we were proud to support them and help raise awareness of all they had to offer.

🌺 Royston Remembers 🌺

A fantastic community turnout at the War Memorial today for Remembrance Sunday.

It was moving to see people of all ages come together to honour the bravery, sacrifice, and service of those who gave their lives in conflicts past and present.

Today, we pause to remember not only the fallen, but also the veterans, service personnel, and families who continue to bear the weight of war.

At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we will remember them. ❤️

For the past two years, our volunteers have loved spending Halloween supporting the Royston Fire Station’s Halloween Event. It’s always been a wonderful evening enjoyed by so many in our community, and we truly appreciate the time and effort the fire station put into making it happen. We’re sad to hear it won’t be taking place this year.

It’s hard to believe a year has passed since we supported The Woodman Inn Beer Festival! Our amazing volunteers were there playing tunes, taking song requests, and chatting with the community. Such great memories from a fantastic day!

In a world that often feels rushed and divided, coming together as a community is more important than ever. When we reach out to help others, not for recognition or reward, but simply because we care, something truly beautiful happens.

It’s not about how much we give, but the love and sincerity behind it. Whether it’s offering your time, a kind word, or a helping hand, every small act of kindness ripples outward in ways we can’t always see.

When we choose to care for others, we build bridges, strengthen hearts, and remind each other that none of us are alone. True community isn’t about what we get from it, it’s about what we create together when we give from the heart.

No act of kindness is ever too small. When it comes from a place of genuine love, it can change someone’s day, and sometimes, their life.

Over the past two years, Royston Radio, a small, volunteer run community radio station powered by passion and love for our town has been proud to welcome and support new independent businesses. We’ve showcased them on air and at local events, helping them gain the exposure they deserve.

But our commitment doesn’t stop there. We’ve also worked closely with care homes and community groups, while offering free training and opportunities to countless work experience students. We believe that anyone with a passion or curiosity for media should have the chance to get involved, learn, and grow, regardless of background or experience.

Here are just a few of the many kind reviews we’ve received over the past two years, reflecting the impact Royston Radio has had on our community.
