A quick Google search tells me that the average UK hourly wage for full-time employees was £17.48 in 2023.

I can't image that it has increased much in the last year. Let's say for arguments sake that the average Brit now needs to work one full hour to earn £18.

And that is without taking pension, N.I. contributions, and income tax into consideration.

Why am I telling you this?

A couple of weeks ago, I published the article Are You A Freebie Seeker? I Have Bad News For You If You Are!

Today, I am going to do a follow up to that article.

I’m sure you have seen or heard about the riots that have been happening across the UK recently.

As I write this, we are bracing ourselves to see whether the ‘protest’ planned to happen close to our offices today happens or not.

We are hoping the police nip it in the bud before it starts.

I am not going to say much more about the riots themselves, there’s been plenty said so far with a lot of people stoking the flames from a distance and then when fingers are rightly pointed at them, they deny doing anything wrong.

Sadly, there are a lot of stupid people out there who won’t ‘own’ or take responsibility for their actions.

A lot of the people involved aren’t what you would call the brightest and best Britain has to offer.

I have spoken before about how to make money by giving away specific information for free.

I have previously shared the story of Pat Flynn who made tens of thousands of pounds (it could have been hundreds of thousands of pounds now) after he recorded a 4 minute video which he shared on YouTube for free.

In the video, Pat recorded himself building a WordPress website within 4 minutes using Bluehost.

Below the video in the description area he added his affiliate link for Bluehost.

People watched the video, realised that they too could build a website fast after seeing how easy Pat made it look, and they then clicked through his affiliate link to buy hosting with Bluehost.

That is the simple process that made Pat a lot of money....

There are pros and cons for both physical books and digital books, but one con for physical books that is a big pro for digital books is the issue with customs when sending books overseas.

Our techy guy, Andi, who is currently living in Portugal, is having a few issues with the Portuguese customs regarding a book that is sent to people as a part of an online mentoring program.

The book is classed as a gift and is non-commercial. He hasn’t bought the book nor is he planning on selling it.

It’s just a book probably worth less than £10.

The customs people want to see an invoice or other relevant paperwork for the book which Andi does not have as he didn’t actually buy the book.

I’m going to share with you a specific way to make money online that very few people talk about, and that might be because very few people know about it.

I believe it is an underrated way to make money online that it is waiting to be exploited… by you, perhaps?

I am more than sure that anyone who tests this will be happy with the results.

There are just 5 simple steps to this business, and they are:

1. Join affiliate networks like Clickbank and JVzoo to find a high ticket product that pays 50% or more per sale.

2. Create a lead magnet relevant to that product you wish to promote. Give the lead magnet away in exchange for people’s email addresses.

3. Set up an email follow-up campaign with emails that promote the high ticket affiliate product using an autoresponder service like Aweber.

4. Join 10DollarSoloAds and have people sent to your lead magnet each week.

5. Write and send regular emails promoting other relevant affiliate products you find on those affiliate networks.

I want you to think about this for a second....

Before starting to write this article, I saw a post by a guy saying that he had 32,075 views on one of his videos on YouTube.

At first, that doesn’t sound a lot when you compare it to the videos that have millions and even billions of views, but when you look at what kind of videos they are… it is pretty damn impressive.

These videos are not of funny fails, a collection of cute cats, or of himself covering pop songs, they are of him talking about topics related to his business.

His business is teaching people how to generate leads and find clients for Network Marketing products and programs. It is something he has been doing successfully for many years.

He says that it doesn’t take much to gain traffic, leads, and sales from YouTube.

He’s had several YouTube channels for different businesses and projects over the years, and while he wasn’t always been 100% consistent with creating and posting videos each week, some of his channels have had a significant amount of views.

The reason he was sharing how many views he had on those videos is that he wanted people to understand is that people watch videos…

And one of the things that’s going to separate you from everybody else is… video.

Why is that? ...

Sometimes, I just don’t know what to say.

People buy products and services which they believe (or hope) will make them a lot of money, but don’t actually do anything with what they have bought.

A perfect example of this is someone that I recently saw on Facebook share the fact that they had bought into a specific business opportunity that came with training on how to use social media to make sales…

And since then they have done nothing more than share funny pictures or make (factually incorrect) political and religious statements....

Never let it be said that there are never any easy opportunities to make money.

This weekend I learned that a woman here in the UK was hiring herself out for ‘cuddles’ at a price of £70 an hour.

Yes… you read that right.

Apparently it is only cuddles before you start wondering if other things are on offer.

She appeared on ITV’s This Morning show recently talking about how people come to her for cuddles.

Cuddling releases happy chemicals and they can really help people who are feeling sad, lonely, and depressed.

She starts by sitting down with the ‘cuddle client’ and talking about anything that is troubling them.

It gives them the opportunity to get things off their chest before lying down on the floor and snuggling up to hers.

They then spend the rest of the hour lying on the floor cuddling.

It’s a bizarre job indeed....

This week I caught the end of an episode of the Hotel Inspector where Alex Polizzi goes into hotels (and now other businesses) to help them when they are struggling.

In this episode, Alex was revisiting The Dukes, a country pub and hotel in Bedfordshire, that she had helped previously in 2019.

The owner, Sarah, had been struggling to keep the place afloat and it was made harder by the fact that her husband had decided to leave her less than two years into buying the business together.

They had borrowed close to half a million to buy the business, and then he decided that he wanted out and ran leaving her to deal with the business and their two daughters alone.

To say that she was drowning was an understatement.

Anyway, Alex arrived, waved her magic hotel wand and helped her to regain her confidence and turn the business around.

Four years later, Alex decided to visit The Dukes to see how Sarah was getting on.

Let’s just say that she was managing OK....

I observed an interesting online conversation the other day.

One guy, an internet marketer who I shall call Bob, was saying that the biggest scam of all time is ‘going to university’.

The other guy, I’ll call him Ted, was saying that this was not true and that many of the advancements we see in technology, health, and society as a whole are often made by highly intelligent people who went to university.

Ted asked Bob “what about AI tools?”

Bob replied with, “I use AI all the time. It’s easy to use and anyone can use it, what’s your point?”

Ted replied with, “you might find it easy to use, but you didn’t develop them. The AI tools you use are developed by incredibly brainy people who have been to university and studied computer sciences, physics and all those kinds of fun things”.

Ted has a point, Facebook and Google were both created by people who went to university and who are pretty big in the brains department.

But so does Bob, for a lot of people, going to university is a complete waste of their time, and it leaves them with big debts....

This week I read ‘online business is a gold rush. High-income skills are shovels. Start selling shovels’.

This an interesting modern take on the ‘during a gold rush, sell shovels’ business model that made Sam ‘The Shovel’ Brannan very wealthy.

For those who don’t know, Sam Brannan was a store owner who on May 12, 1848, just four months after the discovery of gold, held a one-man parade announcing the start of the San Francisco Gold Rush.

Walking through the streets shouting...

I recently caught an old episode of George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces on Channel 4.

This is the show where architect, George Clarke, and his master craftsman mate, Will Hardy, go around the country looking at people’s renovations and small building projects.

In this particular episode, Will was sent to look around a small… I’m not sure what you call it really?

It’s a tiny and quirky one bed self-catering holiday rental, something that you would probably find on Airbnb and Booking.com, converted from a disused Victorian ladies toilet.

Yes, you read that right!

A Victorian ladies toilet!...

Which is best, Push or Pull marketing?

For those of you who don’t know, Push and Pull marketing describes the two main different types of marketing which are:

Push – Using paid advertising, mailings, affiliates, and joint venture partners to send your content directly to potential customers directing them to a specific product page or offer.

Pull – Sharing and publishing free content and information which pulls people into your world.

A great way of differentiating the two is to think of them like this:

Push – You directly educate the customer about your products or services.

Pull – the customer educates themselves by searching for the information they need regarding specific products or services.

Pull marketing is often ‘clothed’ in books, reports, and videos that share valuable information and training about specific topics.

The information in those books, reports, and videos are useful to the person consuming it, but it doesn’t always give away everything, and if it does, it highlights how specialised or labour-intensive the work is leading the consumer to the conclusion that they need to purchase either a product or service to help them.

Some forms of marketing could be considered to be both Push and Pull due to the fact that you can share useful content that is designed to send people to your website by purposely putting it in front of them via email or social media posts.

The other big differences between the two are: ...

This week I read on the BBC website, a couple in their 30s have had to postpone their plans to have a family because their rent was suddenly increased by £300 per month.

Their rent for their two-bedroom property in Surrey went up from £1,200 to £1,500 overnight.

The rent increase was too much for them and forced them to downsize and move into a one-bedroom property.

Aimee, 32, told the BBC:

“I’m at the age where I want to have children, but because we had to downsize, we are just unable to.”

She says she and her husband won’t now try to start a family until they are able to move again.

“I now pretty much live out of one room. I pretty much work, sleep and everything from my bedroom.”...
