A stunning new mural has been unveiled at Voltalab Sound Studios in Rochdale, where Joy Division recorded their hit track ‘Atmosphere.’

Created by artist Jack Brett, the mural captures the essence of Ian Curtis, his haunting vocals and his poetic lyrics. “I wanted to capture some of that angelic, heavenly movement so it’s commemorating him and that song. I think the lyrics, especially the lyric Don’t Walk Away In Silence, is really poignant” he said.

Our new mural by the talented Jack Brett is complete, and it’s looking absolutely incredible! 🧡

This stunning piece honours Ian Curtis and the iconic Joy Division track "Atmosphere”, recorded right here in this building. It’s a celebration of both the space and the musical legacy of Rochdale.

We had a whirlwind couple of days last week with BenBen & Lily recording a lot of music in not a lot of time whilst they were on their UK tour!

Such a delight to also capture a wonderful string quartet playing alongside BenBen & Lily.

Next up for us is mixing and we can’t wait to see the visuals captured by the very talented David Barden.
