Back doing my thing behind the desk.

Today I volunteered as a sound engineer.

Also, snuck in an acoustic set and a rendition of Titanic My Heart Will Go On on piano for the drama group!

Today's event was called Feva, which celebrated 20 years of The Orb, a mental health charity based in Knarsborough.

It was such a fun day, and
It was a pleasure to have been able to work with so many wonderful, talented people!

Here's to another 20 years!

There are some great textbooks to learn and study from about the music industry. However, Composing Music For Games written by Chance Thomas is up there with some of the best!

A deep dive into all the complexities of composing music for games for smaller indie projects to larger AAA games. I have improved my knowledge, confidence, and ability when it comes to composing and working with game developers.

With technical descriptions and visual images, this textbook is essential for anyone out there looking to pursue a career in media composing.

The Confessional provided a platform for individuals to use a microphone and share their thoughts with an audience while a synthesized musical backdrop played.

This project was particularly relevant during Mental Health Awareness Week, offering a safe space for people to express themselves and unburden their minds.

It was a privilege to collaborate with this artist once again on such a meaningful and impactful experience.

Last night, I had the privilege of attending The World Of Hans Zimmer at Manchester AO arena for the second time in nearly two years.

Beyond mere enjoyment, it was an enriching educational experience. Witnessing the brilliance of these musicians and the dedication of the behind-the-scenes crew was truly inspiring.

I believe this encounter will enhance my skills as a musician and overall music composer/producer. From subtle nuances to grand gestures, there was much to glean and apply to my own compositions.

As I absorbed every moment of this extraordinary performance, I aimed to internalize and integrate these observations into my creative process.

Whether you're an aspiring composer or a seasoned professional, I highly recommend experiencing Hans Zimmer's work firsthand.

Some more sound engineering work done today with an acoustic performance to go along with it.

Back in the studio today to practice on this beautifully crafted and designed Yamaha electric piano.

I've been practicing scales and syncing up my left and right hand whilst also learning the famous 4 chords that can be played to over at least 100 songs.

Which are C G A minor and F.

The piano 🎹 is my favorite instrument to help learn and apply musical theory and literacy which will go along way to help my composing skills and ability.

If you want to compose or learn songs I would highly recommend the piano as the go to instrument for this musical purpose.

I'm taking some time to really learn the production / technology side of composing now that my portfolio us up and running.

Things like compression, limiters, EQing and mastering all Logic Pro X's useful production tools.

If any of you have any useful tips and tricks let me know!

This will help the overal sound of my compositions and take them to the next level.

I'm also learning how to write and produce different genres such as metal and pop EDM!
