Newtown's light switch-on last weekend brought festive cheer to the town, with crowds enjoying the Santa Run, glowing illuminated bikes, and a beautiful performance by the choir.

The night ended with a spectacular fireworks display lighting up the sky and kicking off the season in style.

Full Moon Tractor Run 2024

Gloves on, bobble hat snug, and a flask of hot coffee in hand—I climbed the hill to capture this year’s Tractor Run.
A few days before, I made the same climb to scout the perfect angles, making sure everything was ready to replicate the shot on the night.
There’s always a balance to be found between the land, the lights, and the movement of the tractors.

During the day, the autumn leaves reflected in the still waters of Craig Goch, and by night, the warm lights of the adorned tractors softly lit the water as they chugged along.
This event has always felt close to home, and perhaps it’s that connection to farming that makes photographing it so meaningful.

After capturing the Tractor Run for a few years, this one holds a special place in my heart. I hope this image brings a little of that spirit to life.

Last night in the Elan Valley, The Mogwais had an epic night capturing the Northern Lights!

The aurora lit up the sky in greens and purples, perfectly framed by the reservoirs. We found a great dark-sky spot, set up the gear, and let the magic happen.

Fun fact: Dave missed the last crystal-clear aurora in May because he was too busy crawling through mud and under barbed wire at a Spartan race! But he made it this time, and his shots were so worth it.

If you’re heading out for aurora pics, a tripod (or something steady to rest on) and long exposure on your camera or phone are your best friends!

“Mogwai media gave us some spectacular memories to cherish from our big day!

They were so relaxed which helped us stay relaxed.

We had some pre-ceremony pics which were lovely and natural and allowed our guests to have a laugh and get into the wedding vibe.

They followed us through our ceremony discreetly which I found great as I don’t like being the centre of attention.

We had lots of laughs and family moments captured with some group photos. We then ventured out to have some couples photos, the team were fantastic at keeping it normal and chilled with Lots of laughs.

They captured our first dance amazingly with snippets of our evening guest boogying the night away.

The captures we received were amazing.

Behind the Scenes at Mogwai Media

It's a Saturday.. but also its a bit grey and wet outside so, today, we’ve been knee-deep in admin magic!

We’ve been diligently backing up backups, organising files into the cloud with clear, easy-to-find names (goodbye “untitled file”!) and ensuring that every piece of data is in its rightful place. ☁️

Why all this hustle, you ask? Because a solid backup strategy is crucial! It ensures your precious files are safe from unexpected crashes and can be swiftly retrieved when needed.
So, if you've been thinking about backing up your photos onto a hard drive, or saving precious moments onto the cloud .. this is your sign

Absolutely, it seems like a tedious task (hello, endless files with quick saved names) and I know there are 564 things you would rather be doing .. like washing the microwave or hoovering the bath.. But trust us, an organised admin day is the backbone of smooth operations and a good nights sleep.
Let’s not forget—copious amounts of coffee help keep us going through those “just one more file” moments! (and you all know how the mogwais feel about their coffee)

So here’s a shoutout to all you unsung heroes completing admin work: keep backing up, keep organising, and remember, your future self will thank you.
