Well sometimes taking a chance pays off. Alex was booked in for Monday to Wednesday last week , with Mod 1 on Wednesday, then back today for his Mod 2. But the snow happened... Monday was a write off, and I offered and advised to postpone the rest of the course until January FOC, but Alex was insistent that he wanted to try and do the course if at all possible. I tried to be totally transparent, pointing out we'd lost a day, and would be extremely limited in what we could , and the Mod 1 would almost certainly be cancelled (It was) , so we spent 2 days really just on main roads- side roads and areas I normally use for Mod 1 were unusable- just about managing a few U-turns and an E stop or 2. I managed to get a Mod 1 for this morning at 9am today, we started at 7 , me leading in the dark and wet, and was able just to have one go at a slalom and scaled down slow version of the circuit manoeuvres in a car park en route and in he went for test. And he only went and passed with no minor faults. Then a couple of practice rides, finally managing to cover a proper variety of (rather wet and windy ) roads, and in for Mod 2- and again a pass with no minor faults. So fair play and very very well done to Alex - for once I concede not taking my advice worked for the best !

Well done Patrick ! Took his A1 off his own back on his own 125, now he is 19 booked on for his A2 course. All plain sailing really, first time pass for Mod 1 and 2, hopefully see him back in 2 years to take the same test on the same bike (with restrictor removed ) for his unrestricted licence ! Congratulations Patrick
