Shirewood Fuel is a family run business, we sell 100% British kiln dried hardwood Here at shirewood Fuel we are a family run business.

We source all our wood within the uk so it's 100% British. We then prepare our wood and kiln dry it to provide a moisture content of less that 20%.

We had the pleasure of meeting up with yesterday to talk all things fire wood and pizza! It’s great to be able to work with a local family business and get to hear how they started especially in the time of a pandemic and it’s nice to know our logs can be a part of it. If you haven’t yet please give them a follow and look at their amazing pizza menus which are made from locally sourced ingredients. Thank you to everyone who has contacted us today we are working hard to respond to all your emails, calls and questions. We are business as normal and working hard to get your deliveries to you as soon as possible.

Due to the announcement last night we have had to make a few changes
to benefit the health and safety of our staff and customers. We are no longer able to offer collections from our yard during lockdown restrictions.
For those that have collections booked, we apologise and are doing our best to offer a delivery slot. We appreciate your patience as we work our way through collection orders that have been placed.

As we rearranging collections as well as receiving a high volume of orders we are now fully booked this week for deliveries.
Please call for more information regarding delivery dates.

Let’s talk Shire Wood 🪵!

We buy our wood cord by the tonne from reputable arborists. Our wood comes from UK and we even know the area of where the wood has been felled.
All our wood is processed in our factory by our machines by ourselves and dried in kilns onsite.
We use a biomass boiler to dry the wood. The boiler is also connected to the factory to heat the factory too, to be more energy sufficient. This was done the day it was installed.
The whole drying process of our logs are recorded on spreadsheets regularly as we check the logs for correct moisture readings and quality of logs including size. We can trace what cages have been sold to each customer.
If you want a specific size of log we can help, some of our customers have different size burners. We aim our logs to fit all.
We sell trade.
All pizza logs are produced in the factory the same way.
All our logs are hard wood preferably Ash, Beech,Birch and Oak
We are a small family business in fact we are husband and wife... and yes Laura can work the machines too 💪😂
We get to know all our customers well and what they order. Some even ring up and just say “same again Laura”
We appreciate all our customers and try to remain good value for money. We look forward to receiving your orders and looking forward to seeing you all again this year. We are back open Monday 4th.

Happy Sunday, in light of yesterday’s announcement we want our customers to be reassured we are still open for business and deliveries. Social distancing measures are in place and masks will be worn on deliveries for the safety of our staff and for yourselves. To monitor how many people we have on site, may we kindly ask that for those who want to collect from the factory that you call and book. This way we can continue to keep the yard a safe space for work and for our customers.
