A new colour? new style? I wonder, these guys smash it year in year out at Sidewinder Lures, cant wait to see what they bring out this year!

One of our Pro Team guys Adrian Kruger sea trialing the new Sidewinder Lures/ The Fish Locker collaboration lure and..........
A picture speaks a 1000 words, The Fish Locker has been refining and tweaking this lure for over a year now and we are very pretty sure we are there. To say he has been fussy would be an understatement but from the very beginning we wanted to nail it.
All the feedback from the Sidewinder Pro Team has been through the roof positive so watch this space!! Available Spring 2025.
Who wants to see a picture of the lure??

An information post;

You may have seen some recent media stories about a dead Thresher shark (not pictured) washing up on the beach near St Austell in Cornwall. There has been very little recreational shark angling in the region throughout December, and the injury the shark had would be extremely difficult for an autopsy to attribute directly to sport fishing as has been stated and reported.

No shark anglers want to see a sight like this, which is why the recreational shark fishing community in the UK has some of the strongest best practice guidance in place.

Here's some key things to remember if you catch a thresher:
🦈 Don’t bring them onboard.
🦈 Revive them before release - Tow the fish alongside the boat to help water flow over their gills.
🦈 Threshers need continuous water to breathe, so it’s essential to revive them before release.
🦈 Use the right tackle: circle hooks, heavy line, and appropriate traces.
🦈 Minimise fight time.
🦈 Pull in gear if you see a thresher when trolling for tuna to avoid bycatch.

Check out Shark Hub UK: https://anglingtrust.net/sea/sea-angling-science/shark-hub-uk/ for more information on best-practice handling and to read more about how scientists and anglers are working together to learn more about sharks in the UK to inform their conservation.

This is a combination of sessions from Jay Bourton. Jay only recently started Sea fishing. His go-to was usually carp, but he was looking for a new challenge. He has started well, with some nice fish and some great photos. Bognor Regis and Bristol Channel have produced plenty of species.

Welcome to Sea Fishing Jay, and look forward to seeing your future reports.

Huge Shout Out to: The Amputee Angler

I love his reports, you can also find him on youtube....

A recent boat report:-

"The Amputee Angler Report πŸ–ŠοΈ πŸ“”
It’s that time of year when my head starts getting turned southwards towards the deeper offshore wrecks and to those big fat Pollack & Bass as they migrate away to breed and pack on the lbs!
Knowing when to stick inshore and when (and where) to punch off is the difference between burning loads of fuel and scratching for a long lonely drive home or hitting some really good quality fish and often in big numbers πŸ‘ŒπŸ»
Today was the first exploratory one of these and we headed out in a rough sea forecast to get worse BUT confident we would find some laying on the first mark we punched on 🌊
Fish from the first drop doing 15 drifts in total on the one wreck with a fish or two each drift bar the odd exception. Bass & Pollack with pesky Squid hitting lures to being the main reason for the fish less drifts with one nice one landed.
Best fish of the day was my 14lb 9oz Pollack that fell to the often overlooked luminous Orange Skerries Sidewinder but the Candy Kings and Super Real colours all in 6inch also hit their marks well πŸ’ͺ🏻
Wind stopping play now but we got a starting point for next trip with todays wreck being the closest of 6 we like to play on through winter πŸ‘€
Out at 8.15am stopped fishing 11.30am due to wind and oil warning alarm.
Ben"

A little bait about us...

My name is Sam, I’ve been an angler for most of my life and have a passion for and keen interest in all aspects of sea fishing. I’m a firm believer in respecting local wildlife and creating more awareness for local conservation projects. I have recently started working with the Lancashire Wildlife Trust.

Leanne, my wife, has over 10 years’ experience in customer service, she’s a dedicated and committed lady who will go above and beyond for anyone. I genuinely couldn’t do what I do without her support.

Together we have a 3 year old little boy, the absolute light of our lives and future Angling Addict I’m sure !

Anyway, enough about us, we hope you find what you’re looking for, but if we can help you in any way please pop us a message and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can !
