A parent's worst nightmare... š±
What would you do if your child was mauled by a dog⦠at a friendās house?
Have you ever had to choose between protecting your child and preserving a friendship?
How do you talk to your kids after something traumatic happens in a āsafe spaceā?

A Parentās Worst Nightmareā¦
We never imagined weād be writing this.
A few weeks ago, our daughter was mauled by a dog while visiting a friendās home. It wasnāt a stranger. It wasnāt an unfamiliar place. It was someone we trustāsomeone we care about deeply. That made it even harder.
She was left with visible wounds across her nose and foreheadābut what hurts most are the invisible ones. The fear. The shaken confidence. The way she now hesitates before smiling or stepping into the spotlight. Itās one of the reasons you havenāt seen her in our videos lately. Sheās been quietly healing, inside and out.
We chose not to take the matter further. It was an accidentātragic, terrifying, but unintentional. And despite everything, we donāt want her to grow up fearing dogs. She loves dogs. Thatās part of what makes this so painful.
As parents, we walk the tightrope of protecting our children while also teaching them how to forgive, to rebuild, to carry on. But weāll be honestāthis shook us. Seeing your child injured, scared, and unsure of herself is something no parent is ever truly ready for.
To other parents reading this: how would you have handled it? Have you ever had to choose between justice and peace⦠between speaking out and preserving relationships?
Weāre sharing this, not for sympathy, but to remind other familiesāyouāre not alone.
Accidents happen, even in safe places. And when they do, the real work begins: healing, holding space, and helping our little ones feel whole again.
Thank you for your love, support, and patience. Our little warrior is slowly but surely reclaiming her light.
