In the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries medicine was based on humoural theory. This is the idea that the body was made up of four humours. Each of us was believed to contain all four humours in different proportions with one sometimes dominating. The dominant humour dictated an individual’s temperament, responsible for their personality, physiology and psychology.

Lush’s Renaissance treatment is designed with this in mind... the treatment uses perfume, massage & music to bring the humors back into balance, help you achieve mindfulness and finding your ‘allegrezza’.

‘Allegrezza’ describes the desired state of being in Renaissance Italy: calm, tranquil happiness, uplifting the spirits.
