🚨IMPORTANT INFORMATION Ynyswen Industrial Estate - Emergency Road Closure: NO ACCESS TO FOREST VIEW MEDICAL CENTRE AND PHARMACY ON MONDAY 🚨

An emergency road closure is in place at Ynyswen Industrial Estate due to fallen trees. The road closure, which extends from the mini-roundabout at Clinic Road southwards for 125 meters, is expected to remain in place until Wednesday.

Contractors and crews are on site and will work overnight. However, access to Forest View Medical Centre and Pharmacy will be unavailable on Monday, 8th December. Access to the clinic is expected on Tuesday, while the the closure will stay in place until all work is completed.

Other Forest View sites will be operational as usual and they will contact patients with pre-booked appointments at Ynyswen as early as possible. They anticipate that these will be able to go ahead as planned from an alternative site.

Access arrangements for other businesses on the estate are as follows:

🔴 Businesses south of the closure can access the area via Crichton Street.

🔴 Businesses north of the closure can use Clinic Road or Baglan Street.

🔴 Home-to-school transport for Treorchy High School will temporarily operate from the lay-by on Station Road

🚨 Parks Update: Access to our parks will be disrupted until at least Tuesday due to substantial treefall across Rhondda Cynon Taf. Crews are currently working hard to clear debris and check for dangers, and we estimate the removal of between 200 and 300 fallen trees.

🧹 Due to the scale of the clean-up, parks will remain CLOSED until at least late afternoon Monday. Parks that are assessed as no clear danger to visitors will be reopened as soon as possible. Where there is clean-up needed, they will remain CLOSED, or areas may be restricted to allow work to be undertaken.

👏 Crews are working hard to get things back up and running, and we very much appreciate your ongoing consideration for them throughout this period.

⚠️ We will provide a further update tomorrow afternoon.

⚠️ Please take extra care if you're out and about today, especially when driving or walking in areas with lots of tree coverage. The sustained high winds during will have weakened some trees and branches, which may not fall or break for a few days.

🟡 A YELLOW weather warning for WIND remains in place until 18:00 today.

☎️ To report emergencies to the Council, such as trees blocking highways or damaging properties, call 01443 425011. If you have concerns but there is no risk to people or properties, please report using our online form: https://orlo.uk/kjV0R
