We had an ace time celebrating the completion of our pilot “Creative Media For SEND Youth” photography project with ! 🌟

Over this past June and July, ten young participants explored photography with the support of our Fotonow staff and PCC youth workers. 📸

🎬 We recently hosted a ‘Film in a Day’ workshop with students from Devonport High School for Boys! Led by Jess Scott and supported by volunteer Will Thomas, the students explored filmmaking basics, from cinematography to editing. The day was filled with creativity, teamwork, and lots of fun, culminating in the screening of their films. We love inspiring young filmmakers here in Plymouth! 📸 🎥 Creative Media Summer School returns this August with ! Create works to be showcased at the Tamar Valley River Festival!

We are once again partnering with to offer a FREE week-long creative media summer school focusing on photography and filmmaking!

Taking place at the Bridging The Tamar Visitor Centre this exciting program aims to equip young people with new skills, ignite their interests, and introduce them to the dynamic world of creative media.

Dates: 5th – 9th August 2024
Time: 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM (Lunch provided)
Ages: 12 to 18 years
Location: Bridging The Tamar Visitor Centre, Tamar Bridge, Pemros Road, Plymouth PL51LP

Fotonow, Plymouth Arts Cinema and Red Velvet Cinema are excited to unveil ‘Silver Screen’, an innovative collaboration dedicated to combating loneliness and social isolation among older adults in Plymouth.

Through bi-weekly filmmaking sessions accommodating up to 15 participants aged 65 and above, Silver Screen aims to challenge preconceptions about creative media accessibility.

Silver Screen needs the Plymouth Octopus - POP community’s votes in order to go ahead! You can find out more and POP members can vote for Silver Screen at the following link, and do use your other votes to support the other fantastic collaborative projects for the city!

A participatory filmmaking project collaboration between University of Plymouth, Fotonow (CIC) & secondary school students from Sir John Hunt Community Sports College, Whitleigh.

Each episode sees students interviewing different food system stakeholders to find out more about the local food system with an emphasis on how to find a 'really good lunch' in their local area!
This informative & fun project has put young people's voices at the centre of our current food system challenges so that they can help us with solutions.

This final episode sees the students going out in their local area with £2.50 (cost of a free school meal) to try to find themselves a ‘really good lunch’. See the challenges they face & what they say about their experience, their views and insights reflections on healthy eating!
