A study has found Hybrid, ICE cars are far more likely to catch fire than EVs.
The data says hybrids are the most prone to catching fire, while EVs are the least prone, although when they do catch fire, they are harder to put out.
Did you know you’re banned from washing your car at home in Germany?

Today we visited the Porsche Museum and did the Taycan factory tour. Apart from the factory tour, we were surprised to learn about Ferdinand Porsche’s early career and the work he was while working at Lohner. Between 1900 and 1905, Porsche had a hand in the Egger-Lohner c2 phaeton an electric carriage that was powered by an “octagon” electric motor, which took its name from the eight-sided design of the motor housing. The electric motor can produce an output of 3 hp (2.2 kW) at 350 rpm and for short periods of time, up to 5 hp (3.7 kW) with a top speed of 35 km/h (22 mph) by overcharging it. And also while working for Lohner he created the Lohner-Porsche, a hybrid electric car that had electric hub motors powered by a petrol powered generator, much like that of a diesel-electric train.
Saw an while charging yesterday. It allows you to recycle ♻️ your plastic bottles for a discount voucher at a participating retailer. Really cool. Should really do it here in the UK.
Yesterday went without incident in France. Would have charged sooner than Reims, but roadworks closed the services we would have used. Anyway, we went to .official at Champfleuy arrived with 16% SOC and 59km range on the GOM and charged to 90% and 337km of range on the GOM.
Back on route in the Taycan after a 30 minute charge for both car and us, with 87% SOC and 239 miles of GOM range. Next stop is Hythe before Channel Tunnel. All going to our plan thus far.
On route to overnight stop in Reims. Started out from Bath with 60% SOC 178 miles range on the GOM (Guess Ometer) arrived Cobham Services on M25. Started charging at 171kW in battery protection mode.
Tomorrow Tom will be starting out on an epic road trip with his dad and his Porsche Taycan 4S plus (83.7 kWh) to Stuttgart, Germany via the Channel Tunnel to visit the Porsche Museum and take a tour of the Taycan factory.
