Please fill out this form if you are interested in taking part in this exciting new music project for Peterborough which is being funded by The Arts Council England.

The aim of Ground Up Music is to provide aspiring musical artists access to a recording studio, live venue and development platform making it possible for them to learn, connect, share, create, record and perform with the support of experienced musicians, producers and promoters.

The overarching vision being to instil a sense of confidence into musicians facing barriers and to inspire and motivate them to make the music they want to make and nurture in them the conviction to share it with the world!

The information you provide in this Google Form will be kept confidential. We will not share your individual responses with anyone outside of the authorised research team.

Sound Lab is a brand-new, high-energy creative music hub developed by Beat This for children and young people aged 6–18. Forget everything you know about dusty music rooms and boring scales, Sound Lab is an inclusive, hands-on space where young people don’t just learn music; they create it. Whether a participant dreams of becoming the next big music producer or the drummer in a garage band, this is their ultimate laboratory.

We believe that music-making should be genuinely accessible. Many young people face barriers in traditional music education, which is why Sound Lab is designed to give them the exact tools, gear, and confidence they need to express themselves, find their fluency, and discover their unique musical voice. From mastering modern music technology to collaborating with peers, the project prioritises creative ownership, experimentation, and fun.

Designed for children and young people aged 6–18, Sound Lab is an inclusive, hands-on music programme where participants can learn to play instruments, produce music, write songs, record in a professional studio and build confidence in a fun, supportive environment.

The good news is that Sound Lab is now up and running, with regular workshops and sessions continuing throughout the summer at no cost to you!!

🥇 1st Prize Winner Aiden Surridge Collects His Ground Up Music Prize! 🎉

Congratulations to our 1st Prize winner, Aiden Surridge, who popped into the Chime Creation Centre to collect his Focusrite Scarlett Producer Pack as part of the Ground Up Music Prize Draw!

The timing couldn't have been better for Aiden, who is about to move to Manchester to begin an exciting new chapter. His new recording bundle will help him set up a home studio in his new place, giving him everything he needs to continue writing, recording and producing his music.

"It's great timing for me as I'm just about to move to Manchester and start a new chapter. Winning the Focusrite Producer Pack means I can get a home studio set up straight away in my new place. A huge thank you to Beat This and Drip Dry Productions for all the support through Ground Up Music!"

3rd Prize Winner Kezia Salmon Collects Ground Up Music Prize! 🎉

Congratulations to our 3rd Prize winner, Kezia Salmon, who recently popped into the Chime Creation Centre to collect their Audient iD4 USB Audio Interface as part of the Ground Up Music Prize Draw!

Kezia is already planning to put the new interface to good use, pairing it with their existing audio interface to increase the number of recording inputs—making it much easier to record full bands and live sessions.

"I'm really pleased to have won the Audient iD4! I'm going to pair it with my other interface so I can record bands with more inputs. A huge thank you to Beat This and Drip Dry Productions for all the support through Ground Up Music!"

Peterborough Music Hub (www.facebook.com/peterboroughmusichub) have announced their 2026 summer music courses. There are options of ages 7-18, all instruments and Singing - some fantastic opportunities!

It's been very hot today in the studio, but we Christopher persevered and started a brand new song, called Summer Holidays. Christopher also wanted to show me his guitar today which was great! We tuned it and played some chords to the new song.
