I wanna take a few minutes to share, in my opinion what is the most devastating thing about what I'm going through. It's not so much the physical pain, as debilitating as it is. What's worse is the mental anguish. Spending years, decades in fact doing what I love and building it into a profitable business. To then find out that 1 single thing I love doing the most, I'm no longer able to do. It's depressing and thank God one of pain meds is also an antidepressant because who knows what state of be in. I try and do more and more, but it's a daily battle. Some days I feel I could climb everest and some days I can't even get out of bed.
I feel I've been moaning a lot recently (with good reason) but the previous weekend showed there's plenty of friendly support and the vast majority of us are absolutely amazing

Love it or hate it (I know all too well you can't please everyone) I've got a new pke built including the potentiometer controlled lights/ sound.
And I KNOW the sound is what people are going to either tolerate or hate. And I get it. But I've tried 3 different sound boards and multiple lines of code to get it to work with "movie accurate" sounds that change speed with the potentiometer and they just don't work or they lag too much when jumping from one sound file to the next. They are after all just MP3 players playing designated tracks. Where as this the break between "beeps" is controlled solely by the potentiometer. So lights sound and wing movement is all copacetic

Cross the streams was such a good day. It was so great to see so many friends, clients, potential customers and other prop makers in the field. Just a generally amazing day seeing so many ghostbusters enthusiasts. I'm greatful to know so many great people. For those I got to talk to, it was heart warming knowing there's so much support. The morphine soon ran out and the pain was kicking in so I didn't manage the full day. But honestly I'm both thankful and greatful to know so many amazing people on so many different levels

Just finalised the new PKE wiring. I think a few of you may not like it. BUT it's entirely POT controlled. The wheel on the back adjusted the speed of not only the LEDs but also the audio as well as opens and closes the wings. The buttons on the front now switch between the different screen displays. I'm ATTEMPTING to get it wired up for cross the streams so I can demo it. I'll post a video up soon as and you can all let me know what you think.
I'm not one for screen accuracy as you may know. But functionally I think this is the best one I've ever built.

And the finished containment unit. As you can prob tell I've taken inspiration from the video game, the cartoon and the movies with all the elements on this. It's essentially a peppers ghost illusion, with an iPad hidden in the top projecting down onto an angled piece of perspex

Don't you just hate it when you're trying to get things done, the world just drops obstacle after obstacle in your way. Another printer burnt out due to over working out -_- .... that makes 5 awaiting parts. Maintenance costs are sky high this month

At the minute, I plan on being as much done on the days where I'm not bed ridden in agony.
As you may have seen I designed a table top containment unit that had elements from film, tv and video game. The main box is an off the shelf cube display unit, and I'm half way through 3d printing the addon details. This one will house a video projection of slimer. Turning out pretty good. I'm also wiring up my latest PKE design after figuring it how I want it configured

So I'm currently finding myself in a situation where I'm trying my best to please everyone, at the same time as putting my self through some pretty severe health issues. 🙃 being forced to work when I'm injured isn't fun. And if it's not fun and I'm not enjoying it then what's the point. Don't get me wrong I LOVE what I do. There's just 1 or 2 "customers" that make it difficult. -_-

Update.
I've got a date for surgery. It's not until March. So I've got a bit of a wait. I'm going in for spinal surgery so it's pretty serious and I'm still in a lot of pain. BUT I am also trying my best to work. The next 6 months are going to be difficult. Happy to say though I'm doing as much as I can to get all previous orders out before I go under the knife

I am also back to taking orders, there is definitely going to be limits spots available though so I don't over work myself.

Currently working on a new PKE, this one will have the rear wheel control the opening of the wings

Also FINALLY working on a pack for myself, some of you know which one, I'm going for the sparking phoebe pack from frozen empire

I also have an idea for a portable containment unit. It'll show slimer trapped inside and had elements of the containment units from the cartoon, the movies and the video game

A few orders have already gone out and that's not too mention the dozen or so orders that are almost finished. It's just taking time and money of which I have little of either at the moment due to my slightly limited work capacity, which is why I want/ need to get back into working whilst trying not to over stress my injuries too much
