Thank you for a fantastic 2024, it's been our biggest and busiest year to date! 🎥
Gateway Film Festival Director Emily Steele-Dias: "2024 has been an incredible year for Gateway. In November, we hosted the 6th edition of the Gateway Film Festival. Since our beginnings in 2019, each festival has become more vibrant, reflecting the amazing community here in Peterborough. This year was no exception. it was a joy to witness audiences coming together to celebrate the magic of film, creativity, and connection.
This year was also marked by exciting partnerships. We launched new screening programs with Culture Relic, Flourish, Bengali Sanskriti Club Peterborough, Culture Community, PCVS, Qu**rs on Cue, Films of Resistance, and Westraven Community Garden. Meanwhile, our longstanding collaborations with Nene Park and the Church of the Holy Spirit Bretton began to thrive independently. We also enjoyed fun and creative events with familiar friends at Peterborough Arts Cinema, the Key Theatre, and Metal Culture. None of this would have been possible without the enthusiasm and support of our partners, who share our passion for film in the city.
While it’s hard to pick a single highlight, a few unforgettable moments stand out:
• The energy and excitement of Scream paired with Knuckle Sandwich’s electrifying performance at Angle Gaming Lounge.
• The haunting live score of Nosferatu performed by Minima.
• A summer of outdoor screenings, especially Stop Making Sense at Nene Park.
• The unforgettable experience of watching Black Panther with a packed room of ecstatic young people in partnership with Culture Community.
Thank you to everyone who attended, participated in, and supported the festival this year. Watch this space for many more events in 2025!"
