Our 2025 calendar celebrates the trees that make up native UK woodland – marking Holywell's 10 years in the Carbon Capture® paper scheme. January's star is Silver Birch (Betula pendula), an ancient symbol of renewal and purification. Bundles of birch twigs were used to drive out the spirits of the old year, and some gardeners still use the birch besom, or broom, to ‘purify’ their gardens.
