Today we're sharing story collection number 4 of 5 from the Bay Lines – Beach of Dreams exploration of Morecambe Bay.

The silk pennants you see over this Bank holiday weekend at the installation events, represent a mile that a local has walked, and then shared their reflections and stories about that stretch of coastline.

These stories which have inspired the design of the pennants, can now be enjoyed online.
Miles 23 to 42 of 120 cover Lancaster via Sunderland Point to Morecambe and Hest Bank along the Lune Estuary heading along an old railway line and expansive seafront prom - places rich in cultural and industrial heritage, and close to the hearts of those who live there.
Enjoy the exploration here:

And we hope you can come along today at Arnside, or tomorrow (Monday) for the grand finale at Morecambe Prom.
Enjoy the sea of 620 silk pennants representing these stories, alongside music, dance and performance for all to enjoy!

Opportunity for Morecambe Bay based practically minded volunteers on August Bank Holiday weekend

We're looking for volunteers to help install over 600 temporary beautiful silk pennants on beaches in four locations around the Bay over the August bank holiday weekend.

As part of the Bay Lines: Beach of Dreams project, we're creating a display of 120 beautiful silk pennants inspired and made by the Bay's communities, joined by 500 from around the country to create a mesmerising spectacle for all to enjoy.

You do not need to have any experience as full training will be provided. You do not even need to be strong as there will be various tasks available for different physical requirements. However, being comfortable walking on uneven ground such as sand and grass, would be preferable.

Dates, locations and times.

Walney Island: Friday 25 August 11am to 4pm. Rigging to start from 7am (near Round House Hub & Café).

Grange-over-Sands: Saturday 26 August 11am to 4pm. Rigging to start from 7am (Grange Promenade)

Arnside: Sunday 27 August 11am to 4pm. Rigging to start from 7am (Arnside Pier)

Morecambe: Monday 28 August 11am to 4pm. Rigging to start from 7am (By Promenade and Clock Tower).

We're delighted to be working with Ways around the Bay Morecambe Bay Partnership in partnership with Kinetika on Baylines - Beach of Dreams this Spring and Summer

It may be raining outside but on this International Day of Happiness and first day of spring, we bring some very exciting news!
We are delighted to announce that we will be working with internationally-renowned arts organisation Kinetika in partnership with Kendal-based ROSA Productions and Everybody's Cycling this year, bringing inspirational walking and wheeling events to Morecambe Bay.

The team from Kinetika and Rosa Productions will be staging 'Bay Lines' inspired by the national Beach of Dreams programme, which links a Bay-wide visual arts journey with a related community, story telling and digital project leading to a series of exciting public events at the end of August.

By contrast, Everybody's Cycling will bring seven days of interactive try-out cycling events to the Bay in June to increase peoples' confidence on a bike working with local schools and the community, culminating in a weekend of cycling for all.

More details will follow in the coming weeks, but you can read more on our website here: http://bit.ly/3FBEhJu
