Turning guitars into pads! I've been using this little trick on a couple of projects recently and I love how it can add an extra layer of emotion to the music. My rock vocal chain. Here's the vocal chain I used for 'See You In Hell' by New Nerve. There is a lot more going on than just the plugins on this vocal... This is the main lead, which in the record has been doubled twice for extra width. The doubles then go through the same plugin chain as the lead, giving a bigger, thicker, and wider sound. The saturation, reverb, and delay are all treated in their own aux channels with separate EQ and compression. These FX then feature their own automation moves throughout the track to add depth and movement. The treated vocals all run through more parallel compression, but I forgot to add this to the reel!!
