Had the pleasure of photographing the IETF (Internet Engineering Task Force) 121st conference in Dublin. I've been photographing their conferences over the last 12 years covering every aspect of the conference including social events, award receptions, working group sessions, hackathon, portraits, plenary session, breakouts & sponsor images. Helping create a full range of images and video's highlighting the great work that is undertaken to develop internet standards that we all use.
A truly amazing group of people from companies and organisation across the globe who work on solving problems, develop new protocols across every sector.
I've made many friends and gained a small amount of insight into what it takes to key the internet and everything that connects to it working and secure.
One of the fascinating elements of my work is discovering the work that many organisations undertake and being able to help them communicate what they do and the individuals involved as well as the quality of events.

As a commercial photographer I have a relatively broad range of experience and clients but one of my specialisms is architectural and interior photography.

As I have a commercial and artistic approach to all of my commissions I'm particularly suited to commercial property marketing. Unlike say magazine photography of properties commercial buildings need to have a mixed concentration within the images to highlight aesthetics, functionality and value to the viewers needs.

A great example of this is with one of my recent commission as a photographer to capture the essence of "The Mailbox" in Birmingham city centre. This expansive property, once a British Mail hub, has been transformed into a vibrant multi-use space featuring high-end retail shops, restaurants, bars, office spaces, a cinema, supermarket, and residential apartments, all set next to a picturesque canal basin.

I was tasked with producing a comprehensive library of images for an investment brochure on behalf of the site's ownership group. The goal was to visually showcase the diverse range and quality of the various amenities, from the bustling nightlife in the restaurants and retail areas to the sleek interiors of the office spaces. Professional architectural and interior photography played a crucial role in highlighting the sophisticated design and functionality of the different areas within the development.

The images for the brochure encompassed internal, external, and drone photography to provide a holistic view of the Mailbox, emphasizing its scale, location, and surrounding landscape. Additionally, the focus extended to the essential element of parking, including the underground facilities and EV charging stations.

A two-day shoot was necessary to capture the entirety of this dynamic centre, including evening shots that captured the lively nightlife scene in the bars and restaurants. By commissioning my experienced photography skills, marketing and design agencies can make a valuable investment. I collaborate closely with clients to understand their objectives and strive to surpass expectations, delivering photography that truly resonates with the target audience.

"I hate having my photo taken"

This is a very common phrase I hear on a shoot and I'm not surprised.

Most peoples experience of having their photograph taken isn't with a professional. No it's a friend with a phone on a night out when you've had one too many or someone sticking a phone in your face on the widest lens when you're not expecting it so you look like an startled pug. The list goes on and none of the scenarios make you look good.

So for some a portrait session can be daunting, especially if they dislike being photographed due to past negative experiences or unrealistic beauty standards.

As a professional photographer, my aim is to ensure your comfort and confidence. I use flattering lighting, poses, the right lens and inject humour to lighten the mood. I listen to and address any concerns about appearance creating a supportive environment where you feel at ease and enjoy the experience.

The result: a sitter finishes with portraits that they are really happy with, a valuable asset they look forward to using.

Investing in professional profile and headshot photography isn't just about capturing a moment—it's about shaping perceptions and driving business growth.
Portraits can feature plain backgrounds or your working environment, highlighting your role and the company setting formal, informal, office, or documentary-style portraits.
Whether capturing individuals in their roles or showcasing team dynamics, I ensure everyone looks their best. These images offer insights into your business and its staff, reinforcing your brand's identity and values.

Contact me to discuss how we I help you put your best face forward.
