We are heartbroken to report the death of our Secretary, Gail Riekie. She died peacefully in hospital after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in September. She was a kind and gentle person with many interests who fulfilled her role as secretary with calm efficiency. She will be sorely missed by us all. Our tribute to her will follow.

Our successful Power of the Sea reading event in Aberdeen's Footdee community hall, Saturday 20 July, part of the city's Festival of the Sea. Nine readers, one MC, ten smiles, and for a few, a distraction off to the left. And no, we don't remember what it was. Perhaps a passing seagull? Thanks to all who attended.
