Hi lovely you, πŸ‘‹

Thank you for being here right now. I know many posts come and go on our pages, some we read and some we simply ignore. I am grateful that you are taking the time to connect and for your interest in the Root and Branch journey so far.

Today I am in a reflective mood and it got me thinking that I need to share a little bit more about why I have been taking a short break over the past few weeks.

Most of us beautiful humans have a story to share, some are about achievements others are about trauma, loss, love and so much more. I have felt honoured to connect and support many people who have gone on to help others by using the skills they have gained through their own life experiences. I could ramble on about this but this post would be far too long. Thank you to you all.πŸ™

For me my story begins with ignoring my story, until now that is.

For the past 'ohhh about 50 odd years' I have been ignoring my mental health and how, even worse, I've let the signs of burnout go on for so darn long. You'd think that by having a debilitating autoimmune condition and anxiety I might have thought 'hm this is not good ,let's do something about it ' but no no don't be silly, that just meant I would have to stop and deal with my baggage, not for me, thank you. 🀚

That was me about 6 weeks ago until complete exhaustion took its toll, then, voila the message was loud and clear ' time to take a little sneakpeak at that bag shall we Anita'. Honestly I don't have time, things to do people to see, let's look at that in about another 50 years , I promise I'll do it then. The stories we tell ourselves are quite unbelievable at times, aren't they?🀦

So, the moral of my share today is, don't ignore what holds you back. Be gentle and kind to yourself whilst honouring your story.

Over the coming months I will be sharing more about my own personal story over on my new IG page . I will explain what has driven me to create the R&B magazine and PLL too. πŸͺ»

Thank you so much for your understanding during this period of rest. x

Our next issue of the R&B mag is due out on the 1st of Nov. Come and join us..πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

I'm already missing the Summer weather (well...not that we had much of a Summer) but nonetheless it was a little warmer than it has been the past few days.

As we know the seasons bring change in many different ways with some seasons being more challenging than others. I've found that although I love Autumn 🍁 I've struggled a little with low mood and have felt quite tired and cold since transitioning into this beautiful time of year. I've had to consciously make time to slow down and connect within to honour what this season gently reminds us to do. It really is quite beautiful when we flow with mother nature. πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚πŸ‚

I've found little changes such as; soaking in an Epsom salt baths, drinking calming herbal teas, popping on a nice pair of cosy fluffy socks (love cosy socks πŸ˜†) eating warm and nourishing foods and getting out and connecting in nature have helped to support me whilst moving gently into this season.

What helps you feel connected during the Autumn months? πŸ‚πŸ§‘

There were so many amazing wellbeing classes on, gorgeous healthy food and drinks, music, poetry, podcasts plus a fabulous shopping area and so much more. We even managed to get a little snap with the lovely lady herself. 🌸

Thank you .chloe for such a lovely Christmas present. Biggest hugs sweetheart. πŸ€—πŸ©·xx

Lots to share already..πŸͺ»πŸ˜Š

Firstly, thank you to everyone for your continued support whilst I take a little time out for myself. You are amazing and I am so thankful for you all too. πŸŒΏπŸ’šπŸ™x

In the short time I have taken off I have managed to visit Glastonbury with my youngest daughter and hub 🩷 It was the perfect place to soak up the beautiful energy that surrounds this amazing place. A lovely 'windy' walk up the Tor was a wonderful start to connecting within.

Whilst visiting I couldn't resist getting an Aura and Chakra reading done too. It was very accurate and it was certainly interesting to see what chakras needed to be worked on. πŸ§‘πŸ’œπŸ©·πŸ’š

If you haven't been to Glastonbury I fully recommend it. Fun, spiritual, uplifting, soul searching, healing, magical and awesome.✌️

When we arrived back home it was straight on to organising my oldest daughter's baby shower where we had Lisa to kick-start a beautiful meditation and sound healing session in a gorgeous teepee setup by Gemma and co . Thank you both. 🩷 Again, I fully recommend both Gemma and Lisa for events and sound healing sessions should you be looking for professionals who are friendly and accommodating too.

Note - Lisa will be hosting a Forest Goddess Day Retreat in Abernethy, Cairngorms on the 20th of October should it be of interest to you. It looks pretty amazing. πŸ˜€πŸ’œ

I made full use of the teepee after the event by taking a little time out to do chakra healing and journaling to manifest our healing dream too. At the moment I'm simply sharing 'happy vibe' content with the aim to share more about our vision to grow a small field of lavenders and wild flowers over the next couple of years.
πŸͺ»πŸͺ»πŸͺ»πŸŒΌπŸŒΈπŸŒΊ

We hope to share the benefits of lavender healing and host mini wellbeing retreats with other wellbeing services in a tranquil and healing environment.

The Root and Branch magazine will continue to support wholesome living services along with in the future too. πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

It's amazing what happens when you take a little time out for yourself ..πŸͺ»πŸ˜†πŸ©·

Lately, I have been feeling quite exhausted trying to juggle many plates, sound familiar? Me being me I ignore the usual burnt out signs and trundle on.

Running a small business is not easy, many of us feel we have to push through to keep our businesses going and hope we show up as the best version of ourselves no matter how we feel. As I explained to a customer today, when we ignore the signs to slow down sometimes the universe steps in and says 'enough'. Don't you just love that we are always guided even if the lesson is hard at times. πŸ™

Clocking out for now but we will be back in November with some new and exciting packages.

July/August advertiser's - all will remain the same during August. 🌸

Thank you for your continued support everyone. πŸ™

What brings you joy? πŸ˜ƒπŸŒΈ

As many of you know the Root and Branch magazine is all about supporting your health and wellbeing whilst bringing you a little joy too . We love it when some of our readers say it encourages them to take more time out for themselves and how they appreciate knowing of all the small healthy living businesses that they can utilise too. πŸ™πŸ’š

There are many things that can bring us joy and contentment but sometimes we can be taken by surprise with certain hobbies that we may not see ourselves enjoying. For example, since moving house I've found a love for gardening...especially growing Lavender. I've always loved lavender, it's absolutely one of my favourite plants, not only does it smell gorgeous but it has so many therapeutic healing benefits too. πŸ’œ

Like anything that is new it's always wise to take things slowly and build gradually. In the future I would love to grow a small field of lavender, however, we do live in quite an exposed area so we will have to wait and see if they survive a Scottish winter. More on this next year. πŸ˜„πŸ«°

Being a lover of sharing and supporting one another, it would be lovely to hear what hobbies bring you happiness and contentment, it may just inspire someone to try something new too. πŸ’šπŸŒΏ
