Saturday: Second Stage After Party - Virtual Goth Night Takeover
DJ's Arricc, CharlieOctoGirl, Nerocipher

Virtual Goth Night - Est. early 2020 as a way for Arricc to prepare for upcoming DJ gigs after a long break, VGN quickly evolved into a vibrant community. Together with CharlieOctoGirl, a team of moderators, and event crew, VGN has become a hub for regular streams (Fridays at 8pm!) and special events, including hosting Witch of The Vale live from deep within a nuclear bunker for their annual VGN HEXMAS.
With VGN HQ in Aberdeen, the rest of the team spans the UK. Drawing on decades of event promotion and technical experience, along with Charlie’s background in health, wellbeing, and activism. VGN is more than a DJ stream—it’s a safe space for connection, fun, and an expansive goth music experience.

DJ Arricc - Over 25 years uplifting Scotland’s alternative music scene, Arricc also recently co-founded Auldernative, an alternative afternoon clubbing experience. He has featured at events like Elizium, [e]ntropy, Infest, Stay-Infest, and Wave Gotik Treffen warm-ups. Known for his spontaneous and often amusing mashups, Arricc brings an unpredictable energy to his sets.

CharlieOctoGirl - Making great things happen for the UK alternative scene since the early 2000s as a performer, promoter, radio DJ, and host. Past work in her various guises includes Obedience School, Judder, High Voltage, [e]ntropy, and Church of Madness. She joined VGN early days as a Twitch mod, contributing her events experience and ethical and inclusive approach to community building. Now a VGN DJ and host, Charlie also streams independently playing out a mix of DnB, techno, trip-hop, goth, industrial, and more. Her sets are varied and combine driving beats with modern alt/goth surprises.

Nerocipher - DJing since the early 2000s, Nerocipher’s energetic sets blend industrial, techno, rock, and darkwave. The mechanical mind behind VGN’s inner workings from the start, Nerocipher helps keep Virtual Goth Night ticking. A versatile and fun DJ, his dynamic style combines heavy rhythms with eerie electronic textures, creating a unique, high-energy experience. Past residencies/appearances include Mudd Club, Obedience School, and more recently Auldernative.

Wait until they see my rider...

15 days until HeXmas 2024! What a treat we have in store for you this year! A bunch of awesome DJs to be announced over the coming weeks, pulled together for a day party hosted by us over on Twitch to raise funds for Beat:Cancer.
For now you get the news to expect the usual suspects DJ Arricc and Charlieoctogirl as your hosts and resident DJs, but there is SO much more to come!

Apparently, some people think The Merry Thoughts sound a lot like the Sisters of Mercy...

The Bellwether Syndicate have strong Classic Goth™️ roots. to me they have a much more modern goth rock sound. Dystopian Mirror was the first track I heard by them, and it's firmly stuck with me.

I decided to plan the set around some cover/remix versions that I enjoy. The set was originally intended to finish with the Moris Blak remix of Wish, but while recording it I suddenly realised I was 15 minutes short, and added the last three tracks with only a slight panic, hence the "Double Zombie" on the tail end!
