Easy to hear them but can you spot the three Oyster Catcher chicks? They are just starting to get their adult plumage now.
Last year their nest was raided and all the eggs disappeared overnight 🙁 so it’s great to see these three running around the beach.
Though beautiful birds, they do love an oyster and we’ve had to adapt our farming habits to stop them feasting on ours! Just want them to enjoy other shellfish like cockles and mussels!

Welcomed a lovely family to the farm yesterday. No need to show them how to shuck an oyster!
I’ll be keeping an eye on at least one of these lads competing as a champion at Galway International Oyster & Seafood Festival some day 👍🏻🦪

There are no oysters at the honesty box this weekend but you will find us shucking 🦪 in Connel Village Hall tomorrow and shells for painting and decorating 🦪🎨🖌️

I did worry that he shouldn’t be out and about but I watched him for a while as he ambled off into the woods.
