HNY you Phlexxy Lot!

This year we are excited to bring a wealth of fresh releases to the label, and to be welcoming some new international artists to our roster.

First of which is experimental Jazz collective, . Based in Rome, Italy, Karamu is a collective led by the Drummer (Alessandro Trani) and the Keyboardist (Alessandro Pollio).

PLX096 Can’t Stop Movin’ - Karamu is out Friday 10th January on Phlexx Records

Can’t Stop Movin’ is a sonic journey that blends Jazz, Afrobeat, and other Electronic music elements into an unstoppable rhythm.

To all music producers out there we will be holding remix opportunities for producers to receive the stems for ‘Can’t Stop Movin’’ and submit your own remix to be considered for a future release on the Phlexx Records label.

Phlexxibiton 016: ‘Fine Lines’ by LJ

THIS FRIDAY WE HAVE A NEW PHLEXXIBITION COMING TO THE STORE FROM

Friday 29th November
6-9pm

By day LJ draws lovely portraits of people, places and pets and by night, around her drawing table of chaos; you really don’t know what you’ll get. Will it be talented vulvas?! Wonderfully pendulous breasts? Nostalgic snippets?! Uninspirational quotes that are too close to home but dripping in joy?? Who knows?! She doesn’t. But whatever she draws, you can bet ya last quid it’ll be a mighty fiiiiiine line!

Devastated to hear the terrible news about Sarah, a beautiful soul, loved by everyone and an incredible , incredible artist. A few weeks back in the record shop we spoke together about her ‘Plantopia’ phlexxibition in 2016 - always been mesmerised by her art and always a joy to see her taking over the art world 🌎

All our love and thoughts are with her family and friends ❤️

Isabella Stevens is an artist whose work delves into the realms of storytelling, world-building, and interaction. Through her paintings, she explores the power dynamics between viewer and subject, challenging the conventional male gaze and inviting introspection into ideas of intimacy and observation.

Playfulness and freedom permeate throughout Stevens’ practice, her work serves as a testament to the liberation from societal constraints and the ever-pervasive human gaze. Phlexxibiton 014: ‘I Know You By Name’ by Katharine Ramshaw

On Friday the 6th September from 18:00pm - 21:00pm we are delighted to be welcoming a brand new artist/photographer to be exhibiting their work for our 14th Phlexxibition

✭ About Artist ✭

Currently studying at Nottingham Trent University undertaking a two year MFA. Katharine Ramshaw’s work centres around how the landscape, and the body, work in tandem, exploring how these themes intrinsically combine to provide moments of movement and energy. Looking at ritual and primitivism, her work aims to seek safety in space and push the boundaries of the female form and ambiguous bodies

Having received the Genesis Portfolio Award (2023), and also being shortlisted for the The Nottingham Art Society Award (2023) and featuring in a range of both Solo & Group exhibitions at venues and galleries such as The Playwright, The Lace Market Theatre, BACKLIT Gallery and The Malt Cross - we know we are in for a treat
