Happy world 🌎 smile day “The better you feel about yourself, the more you smile and the more confidence you radiate”. Here are some oral health advice tips:

1. Brush your teeth properly: Brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes each time. Use a fluoride toothpaste and a soft-bristle toothbrush. Remember to brush all tooth surfaces, including the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces.
2. Don't forget to floss: Flossing helps remove plaque and food particles from between your teeth and along the gumline. Make it a habit to floss at least once a day.

3. Do not rinse after you straight after you brush to ensure you are getting the benefits from the toothpaste.
4. Eat a balanced diet: Limit your consumption of sugary and acidic foods and drinks, as they can contribute to tooth decay. Opt for a balanced diet that includes fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.

5. Avoid to***co: Smoking or using to***co products can cause oral health problems, including gum disease and oral cancer. Quitting to***co is beneficial for both your oral and overall health.

6. Stay hydrated: Drinking plenty of water helps in maintaining good oral health. It helps remove food particles and keeps your mouth hydrated, reducing the risk of dry mouth and cavities.

7. Schedule regular dental check-ups: Regular dental check-ups are essential for early detection and prevention of oral health issues. Schedule appointments with your dentist for professional cleanings and examinations.

8. Protect your teeth during sports: If you participate in sports, consider wearing a mouthguard to protect your teeth from injuries. Mouthguards help cushion impacts and prevent tooth fractures or loss.

9. Avoid excessive alcohol consumption: Heavy alcohol consumption can increase the risk of oral cancer and other oral health problems. Limit your alcohol intake and drink in moderation.
10. Take a good probiotic to ensure a healthy gut microbiome . Probiotics are recommended for a healthy gut microbiome but can also help with your oral microbiome aswell. Happy world smile day and Have a great weekend ###

THESE ARE ONLY TEMPORARY VENEERS 😎! ‘’I don’t want veneers.. my teeth will be cut down to pegs .. I’ll be left with no temporaries ‘’ These are comments I hear so often when I offer porcelain veneers. Sadly there are many cases out there where patients have suffered in the hands of dentists who are over preparing teeth for veneers and leaving patients without temporaries . They are also not shown how their smile could look and are often going into treatment blind . I always ensure my patients have a wax up done which allows them to see what their smile will look on a model and also by doing a trial smile in the mouth. I use That wax up to create indexes to ensure I’m removing as little tooth tissue as possible and to also construct temporary veneers . This allows my patients to get a feel for how their final veneers will look . 😊 we are now waiting for the final Veneers to be made 👌🏻

When your mummy is a dentist 🤩🥳 …. This is my 9 year old son. Born with enamel defects on his central incisors . I still remember the day I noticed his teeth had developed this way. My heart sank as I knew they would be tough areas to treat conservatively. I knew he would face comments from other children at school which could affect his confidence when smiling. Inconsistencies in enamel development can develop for many reasons eg:
- infection /illness eg chicken pox - vit d / nutritional deficiency. - genetic reasons - trauma to baby teeth which can knock against the developing adult teeth. - idiopathic / unknown reasons. The depth and size of these areas vary and the deeper they pe*****te through the tooth the more challenging they are to treat and the more likely we are to need remove some tooth structure. Yesterday we treated these areas using a combination of techniques. Icon and composite bonding . I have treated these lesions for over 15 years and I was so happy to be able to do this for my own child . Thanks to for amazing nursing as always. 📍Based in Nottingham

Biomimetic Veneer preparation design 🤩💫. Minimal preparation - 0.3mm ! To ensure the veneer bonds to ENAMEL . Following Biomimetic principles of trying to restore / mimic the biomechanical , structural and aesthetic integrity of the tooth . Keeping preparation into enamel where possible , thus preserving as much natural tooth tissue as possible .
