our artist for december is SOPHIE

sophie xeon widely known as SOPHIE, was a groundbreaking scottish producer and artist.
she was renowned for pushing the boundaries of electronic music,and reshaping the pop and experimental genres.

her debut album, "oil of every pearl's un-insides," received critical acclaim for its avant-garde approach to pop music.

SOPHIE's impact extended beyond her solo work she openly embraced her trans identity, contributing to increased visibility and acceptance within the music industry. through interviews and discussions, she shared her experiences, fostering a more inclusive dialogue around transness in the public sphere.

it’s officially november and our artist of the month is the stunning iranian-dutch artist sevdaliza. a multi-talented artist and mother, her music has an electronic focus with
influences of experimental rnb and avant pop.

some topics she has explored are what it’s like to be a woman, motherhood and s*xuality. for sevdaliza it’s all about the process of creation,
“i like to show the pureness of my artistry, not just the polished end product. I love to show the process – the process is more important than the outcome.”

her recent collab with grimes is a must listen ‘nothing lasts forever’ has strong electric feel and it’s literally just came out !! you guys should check her out. her most popular album is arguably ‘Ison ’ which is her debut album and delves into ideas of growth and personal development.

allow me to introduce the remarkable non-binary sudanese-american artist, dua saleh. a recognisable face for some. dua is also known for their role on the tv series s*x education as cal bowman.

they released their debut EP, "Nūr," in 2019, which received critical acclaim for its genre-defying style. arguably contributing to help the growing visibility of gender-diverse and non-binary individuals.

dua’s work extends beyond their soulful rnb and hip-hop music, as they are also involved in activism and use their platform to raise awareness about issues affecting marginalized communities. their artistry and advocacy have made them an important figure in the intersection of music and social justice.

a personal fave piece of their work is the song ‘sugar mama’ (the colours performance on youtube is so cool) however if you want something newer to listen to ‘daylight falls’ released about 2 weeks ago is melodic and captivating, not to mention the beautiful music video.

thank you to everyone that came to our little launch on friday!! it was amazing to meet such creative people from a bunch of different backgrounds and showcase some amazing talent from nottingham!

it’s official we’re opening up the studio next friday night and we’re holding our first ever event it’s free and everyone’s welcome so join us!

pop in between 7-10pm to have a look around the space and listen to some really talented artists. hey if ur lucky there might even be cake ;))

it’s been a journey but we’re so excited to share this with u guys
