How do we respond to aggression and yobbery in public places as EX-police officers?

Well done IOPC.

This is literally the most insane thing I have ever read on the mad, Alice in Wonderland state that U.K. policing now finds itself in.

"We will be contacting the two people injured in the collision to wish them a speedy recovery and advise them that we have decided to investigate this specific police interaction. Our investigation will consider whether the actions of the van driver were influenced by the police car's presence shortly before he collided with the two pedestrians."

So……if the driver of a marked police vehicle responds to a murderous attack and something bad happens which is the fault of the criminal….the police officer gets investigated?? Seriously??

Barnaby Webber, Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Ian Coates were stabbed to death on Tuesday.

Police are a bunch of racists!!

Easy to say. Lazy thinking.

Any police officer who has spent any significant time working in the inner city knows that this is a big fat lie.

Police officers are enforcing the law and sadly there are many young men who come from deprived communities who feel the need to carry knives.

Does this make the police racist?

No….is the answer.

Was it the same “Plod” that your government has completely destroyed since your party came into government, putting the entire country at significantly greater risk from violent criminals, paedophiles, thieves and terrorists?

This is what policing has had to put up with now for 12 years and everyone is getting a bit sick of it.

Can hardened criminals turn their lives around?

In the podcast this week I chat to Craig Bulgin, who I have known for some years now. I knew nothing of his past when we first met, but Craig went from a prolific offender, committing a great deal of serious crime in his teens and early twenties, to turning his life around and becoming a successful builder and loving family man.

I found his story fascinating and I'm sure you will too.

To what extent do police uniforms have an impact on public trust, confidence and police professionalism?

I think it has a massive impact.

As always, Dominic Adler is on point in this typically insightful and amusing article.

I don’t think it’s in anyone’s interest for police officers to wander about looking (as my father used to say) like eight pounds of s**t in a ten pound bag; or in many cases like ten pounds of s**t in an eight pound bag!

My favourite quote from the article;

“Every female copper I’ve met despised police trousers. Although, as one told me, “they’re strangely egalitarian – they make everyone look like they’ve got a huge arse.”

Cops.... and food.... and booze.

I laughed SO much when I read this article because it's so true. I recognised every word.

If you've been in the police for a long time or left the police after a long career, you will recognise all of this.

To the poor sods who now have to do what has become a poorly paid, s**tty, stressful and utterly thankless job without the respite of a police canteen to relax, laugh and decompress. I salute you.

By the way. After 12 years of this terrible, public service-hating government, that is ALL police officers, because police canteens are now a thing of the past.
