Oh but you do need to add a sprinkling of strategy too 😅🧡

Social media makes us believe that we HAVE to be doing something specific, posting every day, making it professional etc etc.

But I bet you've had a popular post that was one of the simplest for you to create, but because it had authenticity your audience resonated with it and it got those precious eyes on your page!

Okay I must admit, you can't just post whatever you want whenever, you do need strategy, branding etc but it does NOT need overthinking.

These aspects can be sorted out by sitting down and working out what YOU want from your business and how you'll get that, but you don't need to be researching everyday and making it way more complicated than it needs to be 😅

Woops...

Okay so we're all human, and we all make mistakes... right? 😂

When I first started, I’d put all this effort into creating engaging posts, but there was nowhere for my audience to go after seeing them. Instagram posts don’t allow clickable links, so if your bio isn’t directing followers to your website, services, or even just more info about your business, you’re missing out on serious opportunities.

Think of your link in bio as a bridge. It connects your audience from Instagram to the next step in their journey—whether that’s shopping your products, signing up for your newsletter, or learning more about what you do. Without that bridge, your hard work creating posts could just stop at a scroll.

💡 Here’s your reminder: Make sure your link in bio is up-to-date and leads your audience exactly where you want them to go.

Social Media Tip: Don’t Be Like Dave 😂

We all know a Dave. He’s the guy who talks at people instead of with them.

On social media, Dave posts content that’s all about his business, his goals, and what he thinks is important—never stopping to consider what his audience actually wants to hear.

You’ve seen the meme: Dave’s doing all the talking while his audience (like the poor woman in the picture) is clearly tuning out. Don’t let your business be Dave.

Here’s why Dave's approach will never work...

I received such a lovely testimonial from one of my clients the other day so it HAD to go on the portfolio 😎

If I could have this amount of creative freedom on all the projects I've worked on then I would certainly be a very happy SMM 🤣

Can't wait to see how this business grows and I am absolutely chuffed that I was able to bring in customers who came directly from seeing our posts online ☺️

Can you really afford to boost your online presence? 🤔

Hiring a full time social media manager can be expensive, and the idea of investing in it can be overwhelming 😖

But if you're able to focus on your logistics and budget then you can actually create a successful social media presence without paying a fortune!

Outsourcing tasks that you're not confident with but delegating the rest can help to ease that tight budget but also allows for a professional look 😁

Photographers need to stop letting strangers into their studios or on their shoots...

Did you know that I actually started my social media career in the photography industry? 📸

I love this industry because it can be such a special service for a client, one that they will treasure forever, as their photographer can be a part of the biggest moments in a clients life. It's so lovely to see memories made through the art of photography and I believe that it's a trade that will be here for a lifetime, you just can't beat it.

But some things that I have come across in this industry are photographers having little to no idea about who they're about to photograph, which can create a huge gap between photographer and client, leaving the session to feel awkward and authenticity lacks in the finished product.

Ways to get to know your client can include:
👉 detailed questionnaires to really get to know your clients and what they're looking for out of the shoot
👉 regular market research ensuring you know new trends/where your clients will be in online spaces
👉 creating engaging stories on your Instagram/Facebook, utilizing the poll and question feature to get direct answers from your audience

You may be pleasantly surprised how quickly your business can flourish once you are able to bridge the gap between stranger and happy, returning client 😁📸

Reels this, reels that... Yes i know that it's good for the algorithm but where the hell do you start?

There are many signals that you can give the algorithm in order for your content to achieve more engagement and be shown to more people so i'm going to talk you through the basics and how to acheive this!

1. 👉 Does Instagram truly know who you are? Make sure you are using optomized keywords and hashtags to be put infront of the correct audience

2. 👉 Is your Reel engaging enough? Try using fun transitions and edits to add a bit of spice to the video

3. 👉 Making relatable content will encourage your audience to share the Reel to their stories and friends, increasing your reach

4. 👉 Increase the watch time by creating videos that people are hooked on, get them inspired, educate them, move them.

5. 👉 Stop the scroll, focus on those first few seconds of your Reel and keep them as encapsulating and exciting as possible so that users stop to watch you

Make sure that you're focussing on these points and it should be an easy start to your venture in the Reels world and watch your engagement boom! 🙌
