Players weren't the only ones presented with a trophy, the team put money towards getting personalised display helmets for our hard working coaches to show our appreciation of this year! One of our very own players can make them! How amazing are they!

As we prepare our end of season toasts, speeches and awards we also thank a long 6 years service to Devils women football head coach; Nath, who shared that the 2024 season would be his last as HC. Coach Nath is the reason we still have a team today and held us together through tough times and recruitment that unfortunately all too many women's teams face. Today we see a team of fierce women ready to take the next steps in competing in the BAFA 7s Developmental league and we thank you for that 👏 you've Raised hell 💙💛🏈

Only 14 days left until the penultimate tournament of the 2024 season 🏈
At the beginning of the season BAFA announced there would be no playoffs in the 7s league. This was challenged by all teams in the league and since have said they would reinstate them, however no one has heard anything since, so we are unsure if playoffs will go ahead. Either way the devils sit at 2-4, and we're looking for redemption and aim to finish strong 💪🏼

•How did you find out about the Devil's, and what helped you come along?
• I attended quite a few of the seniors' games with my husband which is where I saw advertising for the Women's team, I was on the fence about joining and then I bumped into a couple of Ladies from the Women's Team at a game and they motivated me to come along to a training session and give it a go!
•What would you say to others who are thinking about coming along?
• So cliche but just take the leap and go for it! I'm so glad I did, it's the best thing I've ever done! You won't regret it!
•Have you played/took part in any other sports?
• Nope 🤣. I briefly dabbled in abit of Ladies Cricket a few years ago but apart from that I haven't played sports since school some 20 years ago 😳
•What are you most looking forward to in your first year as a Devil?
• Just getting to know the game better and progressing myself on the field 💪.
•What top skill are you bringing to the Devil's this year?
• Umm 🤣. I don't really know yet...I'm a quick learner and a very determined person, I'm small but mighty! Is that a skill?
•Do you have any goals for the season- personal or team?
• Personally I want to gain more self confidence and just soak up all the training so I can continously improve.
Team wise I just want to be the best support I can be to these fantastic ladies on and off the field 🙌

How did you find out about the Devil's, and what helped you come along?
• I work with the current offence captain who asked me to come along as I love sport and trying new things.
What would you say to others who are thinking about coming along?
•Come along and get involved.. it’s just as great socially as well as the training being fun.
Have you played/took part in any other sports?
•Yes, Netball, Dance, Baton Twirling and Bouldering.
What are you most looking forward to in your first year as a Devil?
•Game days and being part of the team.
What top skill are you bringing to the Devil's this year?
•My long limbs and pink diamond sliders.
Do you have any goals for the season- personal or team?
• To keep building on my knowledge of the game and know the play calls quicker.

Coach Nathan said " it was really hard to call MVPs today, as everyone has made such improvements since the first tournament, and most of the teams second ever tournament! The Coaching team wanted to give special shout outs to #21 Claire Phippen her second ever tournament and held her own against a GB WR, the bash brothers on D-line #11 & #50 Bov and O'Mara for Raising hell all day long, #22 Rhianne Brister and #7 Tali Arantes for exploiting gaps and throwing dimes. Were looking forward to further adjustments and improvement at T3 in Cardiff!"

3️⃣2️⃣! Ourlass Holly came back from maternity this year to play her first full season with us as LB and then broke her wrist in the middle of the season! She's itching to get a full season on the pitch as a Devil. There's no one as hard working as 32 in training, she puts in the graft and is ready to go next season🏈😈 🔊I wear 32 because my other half wears 32 and I thought it would be cute to match numbers playing for the different sides of the same team (he's on O) But also he's the one who introduced me to the sport so felt apt to share his number!🏈 We asked Holly about some of her team and personal goals for the next season, here's what she shared. "Personal goals... get fitter and slam a tasty QB sack." 💪 "Team goals... 8️⃣- is the number of power and success so I had to have it! That perfectly describes 8- Chelsea, who joins us all the way from Utah falcons. Chelsea played as a safety for us this season with a couple of reps at WR, but could succeed at any position she played in, with her football brain, speed and strength. Chelsea got the highest amount of individual tackles in the team this year! 👊🏾 Not to mention, she's our very own hype machine always bringing that energy and keeping everyone's vibe in check 🏈😈 We asked Chelsea about some of her team and personal goals for the next season, here's what she shared. Getting to know 3️⃣ 0️⃣... Clarice finished her rookie season in 2022, as a Rugby player ! She slotted right into a LB position because of her natural low tackling ability, strength and speed. In her second season she retrieved fumbles and safeties and even got a TD! We can't wait to see what she does next year! 🏈😈 We asked her some questions here's what she said- 👋🏿 Hi, I am an outside Linebacker in my second season . I played rugby first as a winger and have played Flanker ( badly) 😬😬😬. I still play rugby, the AF season starts as rugby finishes! I LOVE tackling, and when I arrived I was directed to Defense and here I am! 💪🏿 I Am still learning- I am trying to play more ” heads up ” keeping my head on a swivel and really Scan around to see what’s happening on the pitch , having the helmet helped me achieve that.
