So yesterday we stood on top of the world (kinda) and we conquered Snowdon all in the name of charity.

Our hike squad of absolutely smashed the climb and it we won’t lie, it was hard. We had tears, injuries, laughter and lots of smiles!

The sense of achievement and pride in what we have done is a little overwhelming, but we couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support and donations!

Thank you for all the lovely messages and for the amazing amount of money we have raised! Donations are open until Friday and then we will announce the winning schools who will receive the school garden success plan.

So our best laid plans have gone out the window…

We planned on progressively hitting our challenge target but the last 48 hours have been incredible!

We have now hit our stage targets for the challenges you guys suggested and most importantly we have hit the magic £3000 to fund 5 primary schools for the school garden success plan!

Thank you so much for all of the donations! However, we don’t want to stop here…

And just like that Jumanji is tamed!

Every year I have to go into next doors garden and cut back the brambles, ivy and bindweed that wants to come share my garden! It’s a tough job walking the wall to remove everything but it’s very satisfying!

I have permission from the neighbours to do this.

The house is currently up for sale, I don’t envy the next owner when it comes to taming the garden.

Today’s allotment haul of tomatoes, parsnips, Turks turban squash, goosebump pumpkin and potatoes.

Now to roast the tomatoes with home grown onions and garlic to make sauce to freeze!

Growing your own is so rewarding when it works and this year it hasn’t really worked, taking on a second plot divided my time too much and I’ve ended up with a smaller yield than would have with a fully functioning half plot.

Now it’s time to tidy up for winter and cover the beds to let them rest.

It’s with a heavy heart that we have to announce that the bearded growers are hanging up the radio mic’s!

We have had an amazing 4 years broadcasting on live radio at NCCR & but sadly we have decided to call it a day on the radio!

We aren’t going away totally and we will still be around on social media and we will be doing the occasional live stream on insta & YouTube.

After the Snowden hike we will be taking a bit of a break to come up with some new exciting ideas to bring you the best of us!

It’s been a blast and we have made so many amazing memories all because of the radio, which we still consider to be the purest form of media and one that always needs your support!

We aren’t crying… 😢

🤯🤯🤯 MIND BLOWN POST!

Now we aren’t really bothered by our pages stats but this was a bit of a shock to us.

On 22nd of June we lost 14 followers, we only posted once on that day and it was a photo of the two of us sharing a bed for a photo opportunity.

For context we are best mates and we are not a couple, we are both in relationships with women, so it’s safe to say we aren’t gay.

But why would an innocent photograph of two men in bed be so triggering?

Seriously thought the world had moved on from anti-homosexual biased views, clearly not!

We are very inclusive over here at the Bearded Growers and that’s not going to change!

Those small minded individuals will not be missed from our followers, and just in case anyone else is ‘offended’ we have attached the photograph again.
