Dearest Readers,

It has come to my attention that a most thrilling affair is soon to unfold, and it is with great pleasure that I divulge the particulars to you. On the forthcoming Monday, the 10th of June, Delapré Abbey will be the setting for our next Scandalous Georgians tour.

This author has been reliably informed that at 2:30pm and 7pm, your hosts will spill the tea on the lives of Edward and Harriet Bouverie, esteemed members of the Devonshire House Circle. Prepare yourself for an abundance of salacious gossip and the most tantalising scandals of high society.

Secure your place posthaste, for such an event is bound to be the talk of the town.

Yours Truly,
D.A.

80th Anniversary of D-Day: Poppy Project

🌺 The poppies in this display have been lovingly crafted by local craft groups, individuals, and community organizations, including the Museum Craft and Chatter group. Each knitted or crocheted poppy honors a person with a Northamptonshire connection who was a casualty of the D-Day landings in June and the subsequent battles through to September 1944. These casualties include members of the Northamptonshire Yeomanry, individuals from Northamptonshire airfields, and Northamptonshire residents serving in the armed forces. 🌺

Northampton Carnival returns on Saturday, 8 June.

The parade sets off from the Racecourse park at 2pm, and will see people line the streets to view the floats as they make their way through the town centre.

The carnival route is similar to previous years, however taking into account construction works on Abington Street, will enter the town centre via York Road and St Giles Street, before passing in front of the All Saints Church onto the Drapery and then up onto Sheep Street and exiting via St Michael’s Road.

The parade route can be viewed on the Northampton Carnival website,
