Happy Hooder Giorgio Pandiani Art has been up to something with 60 Miles by Road or Rail and we know it's going to be EPIC 😲

🖼 Meet our artists! This coming week, we'll be sharing our incredible comic book artists!

First up, editor and the artist paired with Affinity Day Care CIC, Giorgio Pandiani.

🇮🇹 Giorgio is a comics and graphic novel author, illustrator, and graphic designer born in Lecco (Italy), now living in Northampton.

After attending the Comics School in Milan, he started to write, draw and publish his own independent graphic novels and is a regular contributor to The Happy Hood.

This project is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund thanks to The National Lottery players.

Hi, I’m Laura (She/Her), the Founder of The Happy `Hood and I’m pansexual.

I found it hard not knowing other pan/bisexual people, especially being in a straight-passing marriage. There is a lot of bi/pan erasure in general and a lot of fetishization of folk who are bi/pan.

So, I figured I’d create a space where bi/pan people of marginalised genders can get together and build a community.

With support and encouragement from , I set up a little WhatsApp group and we’re going to be meeting in real life! We’ll have discussion topics related to our sexual orientation, gender identity and everything in between.

There are loads of benefits to joining a walking group - meet new people, improve your mental and physical health or break up your day and give you something to look forward to.

The Happy Hood have begun a new walking group that takes place on the second Sunday of the month. Their first walk took place on Sunday at 10:00 at the Racecourse.

John joined Laura, Founder of the Happy Hood and the other walkers on Sunday morning. They talk about the reasons behind the walk, the benefits and the Happy Hood 'zine.

Hear them at 14:20 today.

There's also a Three From Chart - three songs, a Classic Number One and a TV Theme, today from 12 August 1979. The TV theme is from a show about motorcycle trials hosted by Peter Purves.

There's also the debut play of John's tune of the week from Katy Perry.

Stick with John until 16:00.

has started a fundraiser and we're asking the Happy 'Hood community to rally. ❤️

Beve's husband developed a blood clot which blocked the arteries in his foot and meant he had to have his leg amputated below the knee.

This is life changing surgery which will impact the whole family emotionally and financially.

🎭 Thank you to The Playhouse Theatre for the invitation to their production of Bouncers.

Written in the late 70s and first performed in 1983, it's a reflection of white working class drinking culture.

Funny and campy, it's a look back that makes you realise how far we've come, at the same time as nothing really changing at all....

Massive shout-out to Georgia Sheehan who did an amazing job managing and editing issue 24! ✨

📝 'Editor' is a big job and a huge amount of work goes into curating each issue. Everything from sourcing and commissioning stories, matching artists, writing briefs, chasing for content and pulling it all together. Georgia also contributed articles and artwork.

🎗️ She did all this, completely voluntarily, on top of a full-time job and training for a mighty hike to raise money for Cancer Research UK in honour of her mum and aunty who are battling cancer.
