I have the knowledge, experience and tools to bring your next musical project to life. Thorpe is a fully equipped professional recording studio nestled in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside that has been sound treated to the very highest of standards. I provide a full recording, mixing and mastering service from "mix engineer" to full on "producer", YOU decide. One of my main passions is in songwriting, so if you need help finishing that tricky middle 8th, stuck on lyrics to verse 2, or purely want to learn the fundamentals of how to write a song, then this is the place for you. I can produce your ideas to the very best quality, all at very reasonable rates. If it's live performance or studio session work, I can also assist. Creativity should have no limits. Therefore Thorpe is a creative space, with no rules, just a passion to bring your ideas to life. I'll never be "that studio guy" that tries to tell YOU how it's supposed to be done. ONE WEEK AWAY!

Only 7 more days until the release of my debut single ‘The State Of The Art’! Currently waiting on the confirmation that it will be up on Spotify and Apple on the day, but guaranteed that it will be available somewhere and will put the necessary links up for you to check it out!

Let me give you a little bit of background regarding the song. It started life in January 2021 as more of an electronic-heavy song for yet another unfinished project I had in mind. When I started working on the album that you will hear on 28th October, I wondered what the song would sound like rocked up, and was so pleased with the results I just knew that not only did it need to be on the album, but that it was going to be the lead single.

When writing it, I set myself a challenge: to write a song with only 3 or 4 chords in it that was still interesting to listen to, and to write something a little bit more pop-orientated than what I would usually write (being more of a riff-writer, this was certainly more of a challenge for me). It’s a little different to the rest of the album musically, but still fits in with the somewhat melancholic vibe of the full record lyrically (I’ll go into more detail about that after the release).

I must give enormous thanks once again to the two other people you’ll hear on this track. Firstly, to Chris Hardwick, who so brilliantly executed the drums on this track (if you listen carefully, you might able to hear Chris cursing my name over the drum track! Sorry again Chris!). And also, to Jon Martin (Thorpe Recording Studio) not only for the fantastic guitar and keys playing, but also for the magnificent production on the song. Jon elevated the song to a whole new level (as he has done with the entire album) and I can’t thank him enough for that. If you’re in the Northampton area, or surrounding areas…screw it, wherever you are, if you want your music recorded and produced with incredible care and detail, go to Jon and you won’t be disappointed.
